  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I had my first prenatal couple's class yesterday. I quite liked it... but the first thing I wanted to know was who was the biggest and who was the smallest... I'm the smallest! And, I'm the second due (by only one day). There was a woman there due nearly a month and a half after I am and she was much bigger. It feels a bit weird for everyone to be bigger. Oh well, I am on schedule and everything.

Don't worry about the size of your belly. With my first, my belly was small, and I still managed to have a 7lb 2oz boy. So don't worry too much.

this time around I wasn't as fit to start off with, in fact I was 20kg overweight, and my belly at 19 weeks is nearly the size of what the first pg was at 40 weeks. :sigh:

I was huge with both of my pregnancies and probably will be with this one too. (I had big babies). My SIL was very small and still ended up having a 8 1/2lb. baby boy. As long as you are target and the dr. says things are good, it's fine.

I FEEL huge, especially at work, probably because I am in the military so compared to everyone else I AM huge right now... :)

But when I went to my first class, I was one of the smallest women there. Everytime I go to the OB, I am very small...

How far along are you? I am 32 weeks now and starting to get bigger. I'll notice it day to day. Last night I had this dream that I was going to blow up because I was so huge. So don't wish to get bigger!!! ;)

Oh! I noticed on your post that you are due about 2 weeks before me! So are you getting impatient or what??

I want her to come NOW. I want to kiss her and hold her...I try not to think about it too much. Every day I just imagine her getting bigger and healthier and one day closer to being here.

Ok, I am rambling...I think it's a pregnant mommy thing...I want to talk about this all of the time! :)

Ok, I am rambling...I think it's a pregnant mommy thing...I want to talk about this all of the time! :)

We just bought the mattress for our crib yesterday and for some reason that made me excited... it now looks like a real baby could sleep in there.

I really like my third trimester, its the only one where I've been feeling pretty good. I am excited to have my baby on the outside for a change though. I keep counting how long until the earliest she should safely be born and how long until I could stand to be the longest before she comes!

I hope I don't have a baby over 8 lbs. The only thing I worry about really is what if she gets stuck on the way out. But, I'm told at the moment that she is breech... but at my class they said that most of the time when you get a scan to verify the position that they find out most babies aren't breech afterall.

I do wonder how much bigger I will get... do we do a lot more growing from now until the end? I don't have stretch marks yet and I am very happy about that.

I would say if you are due early April, and don't have stretch marks yet, then chances are you may not get them. Or if you do they will only be very small. My stretchmarks faded to an almost white line. They are not that bad to look at and when I do look at them it's just a reminder of me being a mum and all that. It's no big deal, I think in a way they are kind of beautiful. Same as my caesar scar.

However, your baby will still be growing and so your tummy will still grow.

A mother at church who is about to have her 3rd baby, was telling me a few weeks ago, she was worried about the size of her bump, thinking the baby was going to be too small. I saw her Sunday (she is due this coming Sunday, and may even be in labour as I write this, I have been thinking of her today) Anyway, that bump is now quite a "respecatable" size and she has really grown.

A follow up on my bump size. I had a doctor's appointment the other day (34 week appointment) and he checked my baby's position. He believes my baby is head down, he called my midwife in to check as well as she previously said the baby was breech. Well, she still thinks its breech. Apparently the confusion is the area just above my pubic bone. The doctor says that is the head, but the midwife says that area is too wide and she thinks it is a tight muscle and the bum must be wedged there. So, they got to feeling the top and neither one can determine if it is a head or bum. It was the strangest appointment. Then my midwife returned to what she was doing and I was left with the doctor. The doctor is convinced he is right and said possibly due to my height (apparently I am far taller than British women... though I don't think 5'8" is exceptionally tall) I could be hiding a very large baby! I think he said that more as a possibility, not something he really thought much about. But, I found that shocking, I feel like my belly is so small, the idea my baby might actually be quite big in there would be surprising to me.

Anyhow, when I go to my 35 week appointment, they will schedule an ultrasound to check the position and the weight. Its all strange to me, not worrisome or anything. I thought all doctor's and midwives magically could tell the baby's position.
