  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

"Honor the Lord with your first fruits, then your barn will be over flowing", proverbs.

What besides tithing, can be given to the Lord as "first fruits"? Can you tell me about your over flowing barn?....if it's not private.

The best example of first fruits was given by Lambslove. Her definition of first fruits is always offering up to the Lord your best. If it is money to the Church, give your best. If it is your time to the Church, or any charitable organization, give it your all. It is doing everything to the best of your ability to honor and glorify Him. In the Old Testament times they only sacrificed spotless, unblemished animals. Just like the story of Cain and Abel, both made sacrifices to the Lord, but only one of their offerings were counted as being faithful. Abel's offering was pleasing to God because he offered him the best he had to offer, with love in his heart. Giving your best with a sincere heart is giving unto the Lord with your first fruits.
