  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

In Gen 1 YHWH takes credit for making the firmament that keeps the stars up there and in formation and that also keeps the water up there from flooding the Earth (except once).

Could some Christian or something possibly tell him he did a somewhat imperfect job of the firmament over England?

It's been damp here like since forever, the Romans complained about it too

Many thanks, Mork

I saw a documentary on how the Spanish Armada was defeated in 1588; complete with computer animation.

The consensus of opinion was that it sailed over the northern part of Great Britain, then made a bee-line westward for the Atlantic ocean.

What happened though, was that they had to travel into the wind, and when the captain, who thought they were making progress, ordered the fleet to turn south, thinking they were out in the Atlantic, actually ended up crashing the fleet into the rocks of northern Great Britain.

Psalm 83:15 So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.

Hamlet mentioned it as an expression of his deep despair:

"I have of late,—but wherefore I know not,—lost all my mirth, forgone all custom of exercises; and indeed, it goes so heavily with my disposition that this goodly frame, the earth, seems to me a sterile promontory; this most excellent canopy, the air, look you, this brave o’erhanging firmament, this majestical roof fretted with golden fire,—why, it appears no other thing to me than a foul and pestilent congregation of vapours..."
