I voted it wouldn't happen, guess cause that's what I want. But I don't know, just know I'm glad we are always busy with harvest at this time of year. So no traveling for me!!!

It is a good topic Susan.  I also voted no. 

I know some of these warnings have hit home for a lot of us.  My husband drives a liquid tanker truck (full of chocolate) to Brooklyn, the Bronx... I am concerned about him, because of the recent warnings involving tanker trucks.  He is stopped quite often and has his truck checked.  Which is good, but even his company has warned that these trucks would be ideal to take.  Even out truck drivers are on the lookout.

I have no idea if it will happen or not. Sometimes I feel like the government is using fear as a way of gaining control over us, once everyone is scared enough they will be more willing to accept something like the mark of the beast (computer chips implanted under the skin) thinking it will keep them safe. But I also have to keep in mind the threat can be real. About all I can do is trust in God to keep me safe, I know that he is the only one who has the power to do that!

I think that if Islamic Extremists were planning another attack to the degree of the World Trade Center attacks of September 11th, it would have happened already. September 11th is such a random day, with no special meaning, so why would they wait for a day with meaning, when they can do it anytime?

But an attack on July 4th would be so devastating. . .

It'd be tough. Terrorists don't have a history of attacking on specific dates. There are ALWAYS warnings of impending attacks on prominent Christian and Patriotic holidays.

The news only picks up on them nowadays because of recent events.

Did you hear of the government's worry that Bin Laden's bunch is going into computer hacking?
I'm not too worried about that- Al Qaeda seems too stupid and too impatient for that. At least that's my impression

Well, they're definately not stupid. That assumption would be detrimental to National Security.

I think that currently our biggest threat is cyber-based.

I'm starting to wonder if there'll be an increase in fires being started accidentally with fireworks this year.

I think something big is comming, but I don't think it will be on the 4th of July because that's what everyone expects and there will be more security and stuff. I think they would care less about the meaning of the day than the ease of working their plan.

It doesn't make a difference, whichever day it is. If they killed 5,000 people on the 4th of July, would it really make things better if it was on a different day? I mean, I really doubt it would make things much worse than it would already be.

Maybe not "stupid," but I think Al Qaeda is definitely more focused on outright muscle (bombs, nuclear weapons) than anything that requires as much intelligence and patience as, say, trying to find the root access for the US power grid.

I voted that i didnt think so..But its not all that unlikely, I think it was CNN that said, that the Seattle area in Washington is under a warning.
Thats very scary, I hope nothing happens anywhere! I am praying that it doesnt!

No use in worrying about it though. If it happens it happens. When soemthing isn't in your control, worrying just wastes time and energy.
