It's no use to talking to her about it - it's something people have always advised me to do, and I've tried it, believe me. But my mother will NEVER listen to me; she'd just yell at me and tell me I'm stupid for even telling her all that. We're an Asian family, adn kids are supposed to swallow everything our parents tell us!

Just remember that you truly are a child of the most high God, adopted into the family, with all the rights and priveledges of that family. You are loved and every step you take Jesus is with you and will help you along the way. When God sees you He sees a beautiful perfect person that has been washed clean by the blood of Jesus. Look at yourself as God sees you and not how you or your mother or anyone else sees you.

Addy, your mom sounds a lot like my friends mother. Shes always putting her down and treating her illy. sometimes i wonder if something from their childhood makes them like that

Kathy - I believe the same. My mom's mom wasn't a great mother, and she didn't treat her three daughters very well I hope I don't become like any of them in this respect! I wouldn't want to put my own daughters through such hell! And I WISH I could visit you in your city... but I live VERY VERY far away from the US
