And it's a Colt too! Nothing says I love you, Merry Christmas like a firearm!![]()
This is a new revelation to me regarding Rev. 19:11.I carry a Beretta 92 but I did shoot Expert in USMC with a 1911 (30 years ago) and think I should get back in touch with my roots

As for Colts versus GI types, the sites are better on the new ones. I didn't realize how much I would miss my Springfield Armory 1911A1 until I used it in a trade for a Sig P220. And then a year later, I saw this Colt Commander (all steel) and it was love at first sight. To keep it company, I later bought a full size stainless Sig 1911 with night sights. They are very happy, and so am I.
Yes. I carry a Glock 27 (.40) with a Pearce extension, and I have a Glock 26 (9 mm) in my car. I sleep with a Glock 23 (.40) and my wife sleeps with a Glock 22 (.40). When I put enough rounds through one of my 1911s (.45), they will probably take over night duty. My last purchase was a Glock 33 (.357). This will be an alternate carry gun. The gun store owner hit me in the head with a handful of papers he was holding while I was looking at it through the display case. So when he offered it to me for less than $390, my brain damaged head immediately said "I'll take it". Actually, the owner is a character and knows me as a repeat customer.I've heard the 1911 virus has no cureDo you carry?
Do you know what kind?I'm getting a shotgun and a revolver for Christmas (but sshhhh! Don't tell anyone.)

~fellow at work just bought a used (cop) Glock 19 after he said he'd never buy one~too good a deal he said. I've fired them rather well but thought they felt more like holding a brick; gun shop guy said I must have Italian hands instead of German hands lol since I preferred Beretta...I bet one of those Robar custom jobs would feel pretty good though.Do you know what kind?
The shotgun is a Mossberg and the revolver is a Taurus 38 Special.
Do you plan on hunting with the shotgun or is it home defense? I have a .38 Smith & Wesson Model 60 that has been a carry gun for a lot of years for me but when PA moved to License to Carry and away from Concealed Carry permits I'm less concerned about being "made" so I go with the big auto instead.
Glocks, I have a few. After I bought my first two Glocks, I really wanted a Beretta 92F. Instead after shooting a 1911 range gun, I bought my first 1911, a Springfield Armory 1911A1 and put a Hogue finger-groove grip on it. Very pleasant to shoot, but I hated the GI sights. I eventually bought a Taurus PT92AF, which was built using Beretta equipment in Brazil. Nice gun, reasonably accurate, high capacity, etc, but it doesn't wow me like some other guns I have. My oldest Glocks are Gen II. I use Hogue Handall grips on these. I have one Glock 17 with a RTF2 finish. The grip is almost too aggressive. My Sig P229 was a former cop gun but was reconditioned by Sig Sauer. Sig changed the caliber from .357 Sig to .40 S&W. I may buy a .357 Sig barrel for it sometime. So you're really a Glock guy~fellow at work just bought a used (cop) Glock 19 after he said he'd never buy one~too good a deal he said. Initially I thought about wanting it for home defense, but I've been thinking about taking a hunter safety class and going hunting.

Most accurate handgun I've ever known. Wish I had one, but sadly my wife is terrified of the idea of them in the house...
A New Dawn said:I was not for the idea of having guns in the house, except for the guns my husband hunts with, but with everything that is happening in the world, I actually have started getting concerned about what tomorrow will look like, with more and more people out of work, and higher and higher taxes. It just doesn't look pretty to me.
I am a big fan of firearms. Every jobs I've had to date required the carrying of one. Last year my wife got me the Ruger LCP. I love that little gun.
