  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

A few of my beliefs:

Creation
I take the Creation account (Genesis 1-2) literally. I believe, therefore, that God has existed in eternity past (Genesis 1:1). I believe He literally spoke the universe into existence over the course of six literal days and nights (twenty-four hour periods). I believe that because of the repeated phrase "there was evening, and there was morning, the...day." Though when taken by itself the word "day" could be mistranslated as a thousand years (because of a misinterpretation of 2 Peter 3:8 or Psalm 90:4), the words "evening" and "morning" are 'ereb and boqer, respectively. Nowhere else in Scripture are these words used to denote a thousand year time period. Logically, it does make sense that such a large God would consider a thousand years to be one day for Himself. However, in terms of Scripture, it was written for man, not for God. Thus, logically, one should understand a "day" to be twenty-four hours.

The reason I take the Bible literally in this account is also because of the prophecy of Christ in Genesis 3:15, which was confirmed when Christ's head was "bit" by death on the cross. The serpent's head will be crushed upon Christ's return.

If I can't take that prophecy literally, than I cannot believe that a man named Jesus Christ actually existed and said who He said He was, and thus my faith has no point.

Sin
I believe that women are given a bad rap because of Eve's sin. Yes, Eve most definitely sinned in eating of the fruit of the tree. However, Adam (who was with her) failed in his responsibility as her husband. He failed to stand for righteousness, and thus we (both male and female) are responsible for our sin.

Since you went that route, What are your thoughts about evolution?

I think evolutionists are grasping for an explanation that excludes God. I believe "theistic evolution" is lamentable compromise.

I'm always one for going deeper with more meaningful questions, but I'll take whatever you've got :)

oh ok...

What do you think of Global Warming? Think its real or just something made up? Do you worry about it?

What tv shows/movies/videos/etc. do you find funny?

Are you ready for 2007?

Only through God's grace.

I don't know that much about Global Warming, but considering the Lord tells us how the world will end, I don't think it's that much of a problem. The earth changes, and we should adapt.

I don't watch TV, mainly because I don't have one. I do love movies, though, and we have a theater system in our home with a twelve-foot screen for our projector ^_^

My favorite comedic movie is "Stranger Than Fiction," but I'm not huge on comedy. I like to laugh, but most of the stuff Hollywood puts out as "comedy" is offensive and gross.

No TV? That would be tough for me... but you are on the internet so there are plenty of sites where you can watch tv for free (though not sure if most are legal).

haha gross and offensive? then you would hate the movies i watch... although most are foreign.

So what do you watch most if you are not a big fan of comedy?

So what do you watch most if you are not a big fan of comedy?

I love action movies, I'm somewhat partial to romantic comedies, drama is always good. To give you an idea of my favorites, here's my "Top Ten" list:

1. The Last Samurai
2. V for Vendetta
3. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
4. The Matrix Trilogy
5. Underworld (both movies)
6. Hitch
7. Pirates of the Carribean (both movies)
8. Leon the Professional
9. Blackhawk Down
10. Alien (all movies)

As you can see most of those movies are rated R (1, 2, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10). However, the reason I don't like gross comedy (i.e. Sandler) is because I don't find most of these movies funny. They're dramatic, they're intense, they all include grossness and/or something I might find offensive, but I don't find it comedic.

But I enjoy all these movies for a number of reasons.

What did you get for Christmas?

I received several CDs, a great deal of chocolate, a black sweater, two pairs of pants, a vacuum for my apartment, a Starbucks card, a Visa gift card, a Wal-Mart gift card, a Hot Topic gift card, and Robert Lipurulo's Comes a Horseman, one of the cleanest and well-written military thrillers I've read.
