  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

yeah, LF.

Are there no 'fallen angels' or 'evil' in Christia?? How then could there be cults? These sorts of things usually have no substance without some evil lending power or credence to the followers.... so that they become convinced of the 'power'.

i assume that cultists can perform miracles, but using power of evil spirits rather than of God. Whereas with a demon..

oh, how about this? that this went back to the Time of Disorder (about 1000 years ago). The demon was the only one that survived the battle, probably because it was so powerful that they ended up sealing it as an alternative as they were too exhausted to destroy it?

the cup was the thing that Zantuk wants. um, right, what is it that the cup do?

Well, demons are merely another name for fallen angels. I was thinking perhaps we could make this demon perhaps 'tied' to the sacrificial cup that was used centuries ago by the cultists to worship it.
Leaving us the option later of aiming characters toward the quest to destroy the cup, then said evil creatures power is destroyed.... We must provide a difficult and worthy opponent to the Light for the story to build around. These were my thoughts....

i don't get Lady Knight's last two posts. Did you double post, LK? you can edit your post instead of making another one.
How did Zane get there? you need to give us more description to work on, else we wouldn't know how to reply to your character.

um.. the cup (ok, we can work this out later as to whether it is a cup or something else), could it be a sacred artifact of the cultists? they don't necessarily have to worship it, since their god is Zantuk.

On the cup (or whatever) No, I wouldn't expect they would worship it but it would be rather like a wicked Genie is tied to it's lamp, it is tied to the demon's evil and the demon is tied to it and to gain access to the item is to gain access to the demon's powerful evil call it's presence and have control over it.
*So to destroy the cup (or whatever) would be the way to destroy the demon or at least remove it's power.
That's what I was thinking of.

Hey, everyone. I'm back. I looked at what's been posted while I was gone, and I'm really confused by it, so I'm not going to post until some other posts are done. I'm hoping that they will clear things up enough. Anyway, just wanted to let y'all know that I'm not longer absent.

*plot notes
You know, we could even allow a group of items that needed to be found if that might help Lady Firehawk and Vigilante Hampster with your 'plot line'. Maybe the cup AND a knife for example that were used in rituals for the demonic force... That way both the 'cults' might be wanting to locate the items and could be at odds over trying to locate them before the other did! So you would have the female's cult and the males both trying to find the items first! LOL.... evil would be fighting among themselves for 'power'. hehehehe

thanks guys, good to be back  my camp was awesome, it was a combined camp with all the christian groups from 3 different campuses of my uni and the main theme was holiness, so it was heaps good!

so why couldn't they destroy the cup before, when they imprisoned the demon?

yep, same thought here LF. Sealing the demon basically also sealed the cup away with it.
um.. but if they couldn't do it back then? oh well, we had to take into consideration of all the other elements since it was during the time of disorder.

ROTFLOL!!!

/me gasps for breath, her face slowly turning purple
If I keep laughing, I'll asphyxiate... :p

Whatever the case, VH is gonna have to get her evil little healer wench in on it! Of course, what Isliel would want with a demonic wine glass, I'm not quite sure. :p Maybe Zantuk needs a new way to enjoy his Chianti and Merlot?

Hmmm good question.... perhaps it was LOST?? Maybe there was a cave-in (which trapped the creature and the previous heroes had not realized the creature was tied to the item? Oh, LOTS of possibilities....)

LOL, yes we could do that but how about some other way of destroying it? Like it need to be doused with water from a sacred well or has to be melted by dragon fire from a special dragon of some sort or one who possesses some special gift or power? .... one we will have to discover??? Come on let's keep the ideas rolling here....

PS NO WAY LADY FIREHAWK!!! Can't waste GOOD Merlot on the evil sorts!!! ROFL!!!! :p

ok, due to necessity, i've hammered out the history and details of the demons with LF. I've posted them in 'A Time of Trial' but please give feedback. I can go back and edit the post as we go.

“On top of mana assaults, El had the Nel’luficum to deal with. With a feline like body but twice the size of Teglon,” Arcares said. The class erupted into good-natured laughter. “Strong muscled with sleek fur, eyes that were even redder than the dragons and bodies the width of a tree trunk, they possessed incredible strength and speed. One normal sword could hardly pierce its skin. The mana wielders back then were placed under extreme pressure to handle these other world creatures, leaving the soldiers to withstand mana attacks by themselves. As a result of overload, a great number of Mexgardus were destroyed.”

need a better name for them besides Nel'luficum?

BTW, this is only a description in common songs, when the group gets to meet the actual demon (don't use the word 'demon' in posts please), it's gonna be quite different.

and also, all the records on this last surviving demon, sealed away under the mountains are destroyed, so to prevent people from digging up its location. As far as everyone is concerned (save the few Zantukite individuals), the demons are just legendary creatures. They do not exist in Christia. How's that? (meaning the dwarves and dragons don't know about it either)
