"Fire" has nothing to do with the Holy Spirit. Fire is invariably God's judgement. I like CC, but she's fallen for a terrible deception.

The Holy Spirit appeared like fire on the day of Pentecost. We don't need an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. He's already been given to the Church. We need to discover what God has already done for us, not ask Him to do what He's already done.

What does God's word say?
"For our God is a consuming fire.” Hebrews 12:29, 6 other references in the OT. It's never a blessing!

54When the disciples James and John saw this, they asked, “Lord, do You want us to call down fire from heaven to consume them?” 55But Jesus turned and rebuked them.… Luke 9:54 & 55

"Behold, fire has come down from heaven and consumed the first two captains of fifty, with all their men. But now may my life be precious in your sight.” 2 Kings 1:14

.........so that the proven character of your faith—more precious than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ." 1 Peter 1:7

"his workmanship will be evident, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will prove the quality of each man’s work." 1 Corinthians 3:13

We do not need to seek God's fire. We will experience God's fire of judgement as and when we need it. Lord Jesus told us to ask not to be subjected to hard testing but rather be delivered from evil.

I made the mistake of asking God to test me decades ago. Everything that could go wrong went wrong. I did not handle it at all well. I discovered that I was nowhere near as spiritual as I thought. Some years later, in another difficult situation, the Lord reminded me of His prayer "Do not lead me into temptation, but deliver me from evil". Within moments, an answer to my problem came. The Lord said to me, "That's what you should have prayed instead of asking to be tested".

Many Christians are saying that a last days revival is coming. I wish. I pray. But I also believe that the so-called "revival" will be another counterfeit like the so-called "Toronto Blessing". This will set up many to believe the second beast (Revelation 13:13). Revival is far more than a few flashy miracles and people falling over for no apparent reason. Satan can counterfeit gifts, signs and wonders. Did you see one reference to Lord Jesus
in CC's song? This is the deception that the elect can fall for.

I've written some more about the Holy Spirit in the general forum. It's rather long. I taught a Bible course for a couple of years, nothing fancy. I spent several hours going over the subject. Condensing it all to a post that people will actually read is not so easy.
