  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

In Luke 12:49 Jesus said;"I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?"

And also in Matthew 10:34 Jesus said;"Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword."

The fire and the sword are judgments sent forth by God through his Word and Spirit. Just as Jesus proclaimed in John 12:31;"Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast."

Satan(the father of lies) was cast out of heaven at this time down to the earth in order to fulfill this prophecy.

Ephesians 6:17 tells us the sword of Gods Spirit is the Word of God, which is the True and Faithful witness. But in like manner the sword of Satan would be a lie.

In Zechariah 13:7 we are told;"Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the Lord of hosts; smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones."

Here we see the sword of the lie smiting the shepherd of Truth, which in turn brings on the judgment of not only Israel, but also the world.

This division would be shown as sword against sword, or doctrine against doctrine. This is shown in Matthew 10:35 after Jesus anounced he would send the sword instead of peace.

Matthew 10:35;"For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against the mother, and the daughter in law against the mother in law."

Now we can understand why there are so many different doctrines(swords) and denominations speaking different things in the man made churchs around the world.

Before Jesus was crucified he said in Luke 13:35;"Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, You shall not see me, until the time come when you shall say, Blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord."

This judgment, and this desolation was much more than just the destruction that took place in Jerusalem, and of the Temple mount. It was a spiritual consumption that would destroy by way of false doctrine that would come out of the mouth of the dragon like flood waters.

This spiritual desolation was foretold of in Jeremiah 12:10-12"Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness."

11."They have made it desolate, and being desolate it mourneth unto me; the whole land is made desolate, because no man layeth it to heart."

12."The spoilers are come upon all the high places through the wilderness: for the sword of the Lord shall devour from the one end of the land to the other end of the land: no flesh shall have peace.

Here we see the prophecy Jesus spake of when he said he did not come to send peace, but the sword.

The consumption decreed of fire and sword was brought on by the transgressions of the people, which in turn kindled the fire of anger in the Lord.

Numbers 11:1
And when the people complained, it displeased the LORD: and the LORD heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the LORD burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.

Deuteronomy 32:22
For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.

It is written in Deuteronomy 4:24;"For the Lord thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God."

And just as the Lord consumed those wicked children in the wilderness by the fire of his wrath, he shall also consume that Wicked with the Spirit of his mouth, and destroy that evil spirit with the brightness of his coming.

And thereby we can understand the image of the One who is that Faithful and True witness, who in righteousness does judge, and make war.

Whose eyes are as a flame of fire, and whose tongue is like a double edged sword, with which he shall smite the nations.

Amen.

Good post my brother, definately two swords, nothing outside of His control:thumbsup:

Psalm 17:13 Arise, O LORD, disappoint him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, which is thy sword:

Zach 13:7 Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the LORD of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered

Acts 2:23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

Jerm 2:30 In vain have I smitten your children; they received no correction: your own sword hath devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion.

Good stuff  God bless you brother

Heres a couple more symbolisms of the swords being turned on each man his fellow.
Judges 7:22
And the three hundred blew the trumpets, and the LORD set every man's sword against his fellow, even throughout all the host: and the host fled to Bethshittah in Zererath, and to the border of Abelmeholah, unto Tabbath.

1 Samuel 14:20
And Saul and all the people that were with him assembled themselves, and they came to the battle: and, behold, every man's sword was against his fellow, and there was a very great discomfiture.

2 Samuel 2:16
And they caught every one his fellow by the head, and thrust his sword in his fellow's side; so they fell down together: wherefore that place was called Helkathhazzurim, which is in Gibeon.

But the saints of the Most High God slay with the sword of the Spirit.

Psalm 149:5-6;"Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds. Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two edged sword in their hand;"

That last one used to be in my signiture, I always loved that one^_^

Rev 19:5 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Psalm 35:1 Plead my cause, O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me.

Rev 2:16 Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.

Jerm 1:19 Andthey shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the LORD, to deliver thee.

KILLER!! ^_^

Which is pretty kool, David pleading, and asks the Lord to fight against them that fight against him, and to the angel of the church he writes, I will come unto "thee" quickly and fight "against them" with the sword of my mouth.

Then you look here, theres a likeness

Zech 12:8 In that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem;and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the LORD before them.

Whats that sound like to you, "In that day" also? Given the feebleness,

Heb 11:24 Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

2Cr 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Well this isnt so well put together, but I'll need (at present) to be much breifer anyway (lucky you! lol). Nah, my back is acting up, and I cant sit too long again, it acts up (or rather kills me) every now and again and the meds are just barely taking the edge off. Hey! Say a prayer will you bro? Would much appreciated, the last time it felt this way it landed me in the emmergency room (couldnt breathe) all that good stuff, it was fun, so if Im not here (suddenly) you will know where I'll most likely be^_^

Ok, I know its not funny, its nervous laughter here (bad habit) I know.

God bless you bro, always love your posts:thumbsup:

JOB 19:29--Be ye afraid of the sword: for wrath bringeth the punishments of the sword, that ye may know there is a judgment
ROMANS 13:1-6--Let every man be suject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. 2-Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall recieve to themselves damnation. 3-For the rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: 4-For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain. for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

symbolically fire and light are the same.

4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome[a] it.

Yes Granpa, but the Holy Spirit is that Life in Him which is come down from heaven, and is that light given to the children of the day. But the fire of correction is given to the children of the night as a light. That is why the darkness comprehended not that Light come into the world by way of Jesus.

Peace.
