  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You mean that is not what creationists like Henry Morris, or creationist sites like AiG have been teaching as flood geology? Did I buy the wrong books when I was a YEC?
Why can't you get it? Some ICR and AiG people are certainly talking about geology or other sciences. However, a major emphasis of their endeavor is on Christian politics (or Christian education, depends on the audience). Geology and other sciences are tools. You use whatever tools you can get to have the job done.

It is like two professors of one team, one focused on research and another focused on public relation.

If you were a YEC, I think you are a collateral victim of the effort. Consider that at the same time and by the same effort, millions of Christians are strengthened on their faith and the evolution-creation becomes an issue of the science curriculum in secondary education.

You should know that Flood Geology by ICR and AiG obviously are only partially correct. There are A LOT of problems on what they said, but that is the best they can do in science at this moment. Their goal is on politics and education to the general public, but less on the advance of science.

Do I abandon my YEC stand simply because ICR can not satisfy me on their understanding in sedimentology? Of course not.
