  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm considering transferring to a Christian school, but I don't have anywhere in mind. I only looked at secular ones when I was in high school, so I'm a little clueless as to how to find specifically Christian ones. I'm not looking for any specific denomination, although I'm not necessarily looking for an interdenominational institution.

Is there a website somewhere with a list? And how do I know if a school's accredation is legit?

Thanks for the links...I'll check them out.

I'm majoring in English, so something related would be helpful. (A "media" or "communications" major would probably work as well.)

I would prefer a place that's in the city, or at least a big college town where I wouldn't have to drive, simply because I don't think I'm able to afford a car at the moment. The size of the campus itself really isn't a big deal to me, because I'm in a small/medium-sized place now and can see that either extreme has its own benefits and drawbacks.

I give it 9 out of 10 stars.
i believe the school that I currently attend has a 4+1 degree program w/ that school. Take 4 years here, one year there to get a religious teaching agree.

Once you find a school you're interested in on one of the sites suggested by bliz, check out their websites and collegeboard.com and even sparknotes.com has a college section. See what others think, what they offer, etc..

CIU is in the city and has a communications major.

What do you mean by "Christian college"?

A college where the majority of the population is Christian, which usually translates to the curriculum being based on Christian principles.

I'll be honest here. I'm mainly after the Mrs. Degree. My secular college isn't conducive to that.

If you're after an MRS degree, there's no better place than Grove City College. Everybody comes in claiming "no, i'm not here for that" but freshman couples start popping up faster than you can say "i do", and there's some ridiculous statistic for people who get married immediately after graduation (like more than half).

But to be fair, it is a good Christian school; most/all of the classes are from a Christian perspective, but they don't beat you over the head with "my way or the highway" gibberish. They have English and communications programs.

I live fairly close to Grove City, actually. Not quite near enough to commute, though, or it would be an option. I looked at it when I was going in as a freshman.

Aside from transportation issues, the thing making me hesitant about it now is that I know so many people I went to high school with are there. I think I'd much rather have a blank slate than have to face my old acquaintances in my "fallen" state.

You should look at Taylor University Fort Wayne. It is a smaller school, but there are couples popping up every where too! We also has a Pro-writing major, one of the best in the nation. All of our freshmen have already been published this year. ( We have marketing communication too, if you are interested)

Please, don't waste your parent's money or take scholarship money from people who want a college education, or take u[ a seat from someone who really wants to be there. If you want a Mrs, get a job near a college or on a campus and you'll have lots of exposure.

Southwestern Assemblies of God University is an AMAZING school. It's in a small suburb of Dallas, but within very close distance of downtown Dallas. A lot of students there don't have cars and get on quite well. The campus is pretty small, but beautiful. It's a great place to be immersed in the Spirit of God and get a great Godly education. A lot of girls there are just looking for the mrs. degree, but it really is a great school.
