  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I was the first in my family to attend a university, let alone a christian university. It had been eight years since I'M went to college but went last year for a semester as a music education major and it was a dream come true. I wanted to do this since I was six years old. I made staight a's cept math I don't count. But I deal with anxiety so had to go in the mental hospital three times in the semester. I won't forget it. Sadly I just haven't figured out a way to finance it. As much as IF love a christian univerzity I may have to go to a different one. What resources are there for young adults out of highschool for scholarships?

I attend a local community college and the financial aid department offers a variety of scholarships every semester. I have been awarded one every semester I applied. So I'd suggest that you ask at your school.

Also, consider taking some of the basic classes at your local community college and transferring the credits in to your university. Classes at the community colleges usually cost significantly less than at private universities. I have a Bachelor's from a major university and have found that the quality of most of my community college professors has been every bit as high as I received at that major university.
