• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Finally!

Ok - I have a name for what is going on with Jesse. He has the classic symptoms of Proprioceptive Dysfunction. He has hyposensitivity to sensory input. I'm doing my homework on it now. He'll qualify for Speech services and hopefully OT, as well. If not, I'll have to pay for private OT.

The good news is it is something he can overcome. :)

Sometimes the best thing for us is to put a name to something. I am really glad he can overcome it, fng, and I imagine it must be a HUGE relief to you too. Good luck with the OT.
Thanks JD. Yes, naming it takes so much of the mystery and frustration away. I also found out that the Speech therapist that will be servicing him at his school is the same one that serviced my older son in preschool last year. I'm thrilled b/c she is phenomenal.

As for the OT - his health insurance will cover some of it if his pediatrician writes a script (and I know she will), so even if I have to pay privately it shouldn't be too bad. I did tell them that it would be better for me if he qualifies in the school system and gets it for free (and I even played the "single mom" card to get some pity lol).

But, I'll move a mountain if that's what it takes to get him the services he needs. :)
