More a question for Christians who have come on their own, rather than been brought up as a Christian, but...
What was it that made you really believe? Like, what was the final thing that made you think "Ok, this is definitely it" and convinced you?
(I'm being nosy, but I'm getting some serious impressions that I'm pretty close to giving in, cause I think that God's gonna just go 'just give in, you've had enough signs & whatnot. It's not gonna hurt!!' pretty soon!! Haha. And I just wondered what other people had as God telling them to give in and accept him as the truth...)

I been a Christian for ages. Something happened in yr7-and i know God is Always there and Love me not matter what.

Again something happened in yr 10-Teachers told me people in Grief like to be left alone. This teacher-looked at me sadly as if to say-i'm so alone. It took me a while, but all the time -I felt the Lord firmly encouraging me to speak to this teacher that was going through grief after her mother's death. I was originally scared of this teacher-but there was No ignoring GOD. The Lord was firm, but encouraged me at what he wanted me to do.

Yes its was very hard&challenging plus I had yr 11 VCE Exams-the teacher did push me away a huge amount of times, but the Lord kept telling me to go and see her. He was very firm about it!

We are still very good friends today. I never actual had this teacher as my teacher. but she worked at the school i was at for 4yrs.

inside she was shy, but a loving, and caring lady-she was really appreciate of my support.

There are many more things I have a rare choromosome condition called 18p minus! Some kids that are born with this don't make it&some die in the womb.

Some people with my chromosome are servely disabled. the doctors didn't know whether i'ld ever walk or talk!
God has blessed me and I can walk, run, jump horse ride really well & have my car liscense and my
own car,but i'm not very good on a bike!

I talk well ect!

I have alot to be thankful for the Lord for the way I am.
Thank-you Lord for given me such amazing friends-He blessed me with my friend. Her personality is so beautiful, and her life has not been easy.God helped her through the Good and Bad times.

She is such a loving lady, gentle& kind-hearted and caring. She is still very
reserved,but she knows I care.

The Lord used Family program-Particular Home and Away-brought me aware of a friend sad
and rather harsh family
life in one of it themes.

The Saddle Club actual had an episode on how to help&it actual gave me some ideas on how to approach the teacher i was reluctant to approach although God was very firm about his intentions to get me to talk to this teacher.

God really makes a difference in your life for the better!

Life speaks to us about God everyday, and along the way, I slowed down enough to actually listen to what life was saying to me. Life is that perfect language that God gives us, and when reading the Bible it jumps out as true, not pulling any punches about the blood, sin, and death that is reality for mankind's condition, being given life but facing the consequences of sin and death. The more I saw that man and myself needed to be saved from ourselves, the more I listened and finally gave in to the truth; gratefully, and finally finding that solid foundation for the rest of life's adventure coming to know God and His great love..

After doing an ALPHA course it wasn't so much as 'OK, this is definitly it' but more of an 'OK I believe that jesus was real'. Then I asked him into my life. It was only then that Jesus showed me he was real in a very special way, but thats another story.
The bible says we need faith only as big as a mustard seed. Once we ask Jesus into our lives our faith then starts to grow.
Hope this helps

It's more like a process.
Stages, if you will.

At first, it was a belief that Jesus was real.
He was really the Son of God.
Eventually,
God showed me my sin.
Showed me that my sin was against Him.

Then,
showed me the punishment for sin.

Basically, life did not work.
He began to show me that it does work ... with Him.

Just look for baby steps.
Start with your sin.

Yeah. You're a sinner.
We all are.
Ever steal a piece of gum from the store?
That's enough.
You're in the sin club.

All have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God.

I can relate to this. I am doing an Alpha course at the moment, and I can imagine a lot of people will come away from that believing that He was real, and then it's a very small step, that mentioned above (asking Him into your life) to begin the growth.

For me, it was when I fell in love with an incredible Christian woman. She asked me one night, whilst we were talking about religion, "What if you are wrong?". It was then that I realised, I actually didn't know -anything- about it at all. And I began to learn. I started reading the Bible, and books and talking to other Christians and so on. It was probably the most exciting time I had learning that things people often scoff at, are mentioned in the Bible.

Hmm, it's hard to explain really. I am hesitant in saying that it was when I had injected enough doubt in my life about the reality I had been taught, that it was possible to accept another, far more pleasant and hopeful reality. Because that sounds bad in a way. It sounds like you need to kid yourself, but you really don't.

Basically, it was about satisfying my base doubt. For me, I never really truly believed that Jesus ever existed. So without that initial belief, I had a very shaky faith. But once that doubt was solved, it was all good.

God bless.

You can read about mine on my profile.
Mine was a series of dreams, feelings and "coincidences" with everything, people I met, things that happened, etc.

Spiritually I knew christianity was the truth - apparently even as far back as a child I was open to Gods spirit. When I did come to God when I was 19 years - I got the Holy Spirit. The Spirit beared witness to my spirit that this was the truth.

Next, for intellectual reasons. If you read Examine the Evidence my Muncaster (was an athiest but now a christian) and Evidence Demands A Verdict by Josh McDowell - you will find that the Bible is the most true book in the world. It has hundred of detailed prophesies that has come true.

First of all - hate to burst your bubble, but He won't tell you it won't hurt...in fact,it probably will at times. But it will be totally worth it.

My story requires a entirely long explanation, but I was having the most difficult time of my life and broke down one day and felt like I was being hugged, and suddenly things were so clear. And when Jesus hugs you, there's no doubt that it's Him. Hard to not follow Him after that.
