  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

That's what my friend Peter said too. Just getting another opinion.

My favorite characters in that game would have to be Auron, Rikku and Lulu. Tidus whines too much. Wakka's annoying. Kimahri scares me. Yuna's too perfect. Seymour reminds me of Winnie the Pooh.

Oh! And who doesn't love O'aka XXIII?

Well...i liked all the characters somewhat, except for Tidus. He was just to big of a baby to me. And yes....O'aka XXIII is awesome. I like his accent and how he's convenienty located wherever you are.

ff 10 and ff x2 should be a humiliation for squarsoft. I mean i hated how short these two games were. I would like to see the huge 4 disk final fantasy's come back. I hate short games that i can beet in 9 hours it's ridiculiously cheezy too. They should ban people from playing these two crappy games because they not only insult your intelligence, but they also make you extremely ****ed off at the game makers. I don't see why squarsoft is trying to make the final fantasy games, kid games. I miss the old ff7 and ff8 and ff9 where they cussed and had cool wars with people. in the new ones all i see is mushy love stuff. I mean its really freakin stupid since the original players of the game are now grown ups, so wouldn't you think they would want to try to appeal to the liking of adults rather then kids?

Does anybody know how to kill Seymour on Mt. Gagazet? :help:
The overdrive aeon thing will work. Or, just level up like hell. And use Shell before he does that super attack. That particular boss fight is probably one of the hardest you'll encounter.

Though I never played X2, I don't think FFX was that short. It took me to 90+ hours to get everything. I also thought FFX was pretty good overall, except the ending, that sucked. And, the only reason FFX was one disk is because it uses a new disk format.

oh i know it uses a new format, infact they used a type of DVD to format it so that it compressed well. But I still would like it if it were 4 disks. Could you imagine how long the game would be! Of course that would take probably like 2 more years of programming if they did that so i would hate waiting that long for the next game to come out. What a terrible perradox!

I thought FF10 was an improvement over FF8 and 9. The ending wasn't too bad. It could have been better, but it also could have been worse.

My main problems with FFX were that it took to long before you could really do anything. It started too slow. I didn't feel like I was actually playing the game until I got to the Blitzball Tournament City (can't remember the name of the city). Which brings me to another problem: Blitzball. I really didn't care for it. I prefer the card games over Blitzball. Blitzball was way too involved for a mini-game and it just wasn't very fun to play.

I liked the insanely hard optional monsters at the Monster Ranch (I still haven't beaten any of them).

Oh i finished the whole game and I even beat the hardest boss- I think his name is Nemisis or something like that at the monster ranch. Of course this took me a long time to do of course. I think it took me somewhere around 220 hours to finally whoop the snot out of him. As for blitzball it's actually quite a fun game once you get rid of all your crappy default blitzball characters and upgrade to the best. I was usually getting around 22 to 0 on every game by the time i quite playing, which makes it all the more fun. As for ff8 I think its the best game i ever played in my whole life. Some people hated pressing the square button, but after a while I rather enjoyed it. The whole ff8 game made me feel as though i could actually relate to the characters, which ffx totally didn't. As for ff9, well my friend absolutely loves this game to death and he would probably play it everyday 24/7 if he didn't have to work, but personally i thought it was just a bit too much with all of the specialty characters. I got tired of how fake everything in ff9 was, and i'm not a big fan of having to rush through the game just so i can get the last summon-at least I think it's the last summon or else its some really cool sword for Zidane or something- I mean whats the point of beating the game in 20 hours just so you can get something special at the end of the game that you can't even use because you're already at the end of the game-this was just some poor planning on squarsofts part. But as far as FF games go I would have to say ff8 is my favorite and FF7 comes up at a close second! (I think i just played FF7 too much ;) )

FF8 got very annoying for me. It was an OK game, but I don't want to sit in a boss fight for 30 minutes drawing magic. C'mon....MP is way better then taking magic from enemies for hours on end. I really liked the GF's and how they can learn stuff though. That was cool. The card game was nice, until all those stupid rules came around. (same, same wall, random, plus) I just didn't bother to play it anymore. Blitzball was much better on my opinion. FF9 was a joke on my opinion. I got so bored with it. I actually don't know what I don't like about it, it's just not interesting to me. FF7 was my favorite FF.

220 hours

For reference, that's 9 days and 4 hours. Where do you find that much time to play one game?

Oh, and FFVII is my favorite, btw. I loved VIII and X, and thought IX was good but not great.

I'll go along with most people in saying that FFVIII was the best of the FF series so far. Actually, FFVI had a fantastic storyline, but was majorly offset by its graphics, so that doesn't rate.

FFVIII was pretty good, had some cool bits.
FFIX was great I thought. I enjoyed the Chocobo stuff in that one. Finding all the Chocographs and stuff. Plus catching frogs, and doing a lot of the little stuff.
FFX was cool. Blitzball was very fun. Also enjoyed killing the monsters in the Monster arena.

FFVII will always be my favourite though, because it just had so much to offer. Had so many cool summons. So much diversity and so much to find out about people. All the history involved was fantastic. Not to mention the Gold Saucer. I loved that place! I had great fun raising all the Chocobos and seeing how fast I could make my best Gold Chocobo. 178km top speed. :D Also I had a good challenge in getting Master Materia in all 3 fields. Summon, Command and Magic, took some time but I managed to do that, plus I got the ones from beating Emerald Weapon. So that was pretty cool.
