  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ok, well i was bored and opened up a .php file into a .txt and it decided to make the default program to a text file. Yay. Well, i went to try and install e107 onto my computer (to install you go to localhost/install.php). Well, now that i've gone and done that, when i try and install, all i get is code, basically looking at the text file in and internet window. I cant figure out how to get the cursed files back to normal. I've tried to go to folder options and dink around with the file types, but it doesnt work. Oh, im running windows 2k pro. Thx for the help in advance!

Few quick questions

First is sounds like you are trying to access the file through a web browser correct ?

If So,

1) Do you have a web server installed on your local system ? (Apachie is free)
2) Do you have a PHP server installed on your local system ? (myphp is free)

If no to either or both questions, then all you will see is "text" becuse you have no server to process the PHP scripts. Rember PHP is a server based scripting language, not a browser base language.

I hope this helps.
