  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Dear Daily Message Readers,

READ: Exodus 14

Exodus 14:14 (NIV) "The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still."

We live in a world plagued by fear. People worry about illness, job loss, family problems, war, famine, and the future.

For those who place their trust in the Lord Almighty, however, it is different story completely. Because their lives are in the hands of an all-knowing, all-loving, all-powerful heavenly Father, they can face any difficult situation with confidence.

Yet even those who know and trust in Lord are prone to doubt from time to time. Take the example of the Israelites in Exodus 14. The nation of Israel had seen the miraculous works of God against the wicked nation of Egypt. They had watched as their once enslaved lives were freed by the might of God Himself through His servants Moses and Aaron. But it wasn't long after their escape from Egypt that the people began to doubt that the Lord's plan would see them through to the Promised Land. So much doubt, in fact, that they complained to Moses, "'Didn't we say to you in Egypt, 'Leave us alone; let us serve the Egyptians'? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!'" (14:12). Their fear had cause them to doubt the very One who had done so much for them in the past and who promised even greater rewards in the future.

Are you facing fear today? You certainly aren't alone! The Israelites can attest to that fact. However, the Lord does promise to be with us at all times. All He requires we do is trust in Him and His plan for our lives.

If you are struggling to see the light at the end of the tunnel today, let the words of Exodus 14:14 remind you that the Lord is with you and fighting for you against Satan's schemes. Faith Lesson: Faith in God is the best way to overcome fear (Psalm 56:3)

In Christ,
