  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My roommate's girlfriend is in town visiting, so one of my good friends from church (who got married recently) invited us over to have a Curryoke night (which is where you eat curry and play Karaoke Revelution). I had a lot of fun, but I was totally the fifth wheel (and it didn't help that I'm terrible at singing  (but at least it was funny :D )).

Anyway, just sharing.

I understand. There are times when I'm not bothered by being the 3rd, 5th, etc. wheel. There are other times I cannot stand it and usually opt out of events. I'd rather do something by myself.

I find the people that are coupled up tend to forget that singles may/can feel that way.

If I'm alone at church without my almost-bf, I feel very 'fifth wheelish' - every person between the age of 20 and 26 who was single last year, got married this year, so there's noone my age unmarried anymore - can make it hard sometimes.

My sympathies, I don't have any advice, but I do have a  for you!

I love going places and just being myself and like...making people wonder about me and stuff...and I don't really care what they think...it's the best. ;) I take advantage of those fifth wheel situations.

Example: went over my friends house..his sister had her friends over and they were all getting drunk and smoking "stuff" they shouldn't be. and me and my friend went down stairs and I stole the show by acting like I was drunk and making a complete fool out of myself and just totally ticking them off...it was hiliarous but I really did say some of the studiest stuff. HAHA

You want to hear something sad? I've felt like the third wheel playing online games.
The pathetic multiplier goes off the charts! :)
Oh man! That's hilarious!
