I prefer to play ff8 even though it's story line was stupid, just because even though it's story line was stupid in a sense, it still was better than ff7's story line and the characters were more real to me and their sense of emotions came out more.
Thank God, someone that shares my opinion. 7 was a very very very good game but 8 had that killer edge for me. The characters were definately more real but I didn't think the story was bad at all. In fact, I must say, it was a better story than 9, 10 or 11. Seven's story was the best story ever though.

I think one reason I like FF7 is because of character like Vincent and Red 13. They were awesome. So we have a fight. Vincent, Cloud, and Red XIII vs. Squall, Zell, and Rinoa.
No..that's an easy win for the FF8 Squad (although Rinoa would die pretty easily). Vince and Red X111 were good characters but needed too much attention to get their stats up to become regulars in the party. People like Tifa I could leave out for huge chunks, bring back in to the fray and still kick ass. Try this for a fight:

Squall, Zell & Irvine vs. Cloud, Tifa and Barrett

I got FF12 yesterday....what are people thinking?
I think it's a very good storyline and I've only played like 4 hours of it but it's definately going to divide the contemporary FF players with a new generation because of the battle system. I personally loved the old system but I think I'm going to like this new system as well.

I feel ever since Square Soft became Square Enix....they've been taking risks - making crazier games and this has been great. There have been some DIRE mistakes though...one of them - CHAOS LeGION but I feel with Final Fantasy...you just have to jump into the deep end.

It's a great game...the storyline is going to rock! Ireally feel this is going to be as monumental as the FF8 STORY...but I better hold my tongue.

Whats everybody saying?

No one in the FF7 game could take on Squalls Lionheart Limit break... I got 250k worth of damage on the last boss in ff8 in one move.. Plus the storyline and music in ff8 pwns all. Thats not to say that I hate FF7 I love the game but I would play FF8 anyday over and over.

Ohe yeah I forgot to mention that one of FF8's downfalls is that squall for some reason looks like Michael Jackson Close up...LOL

I like Michael....a lil' crazy though.
Yeah Squall rocks the house but I think all limit breaks ever would be given a run for their money with FF12's new 'Quickening System'
You can basically put everyone's limit breaks together to make chains of limit breaks (so potentially the damage is basically unlimited if you're good enough!!!)
