Now....if you read my other thread(Final Fantasy anybody?)...you know that I like FFVIII more than FFVII....but agianst each other......I would have to give it to.......Squall....sorry if I made you think otherwise....just because I like FFVIII doesn't mean I don't think Cloud and the gang wouldn't put up a good fight

hi,I say that Cloud would win Squall cause he's simply alot stronger even if u get both there lvl's maxed out Cloud would come out on top easily because of him limit break and him materia(specially Knights of the Round)basically Squall wouldn't put up too much of a fight...

As a few have said before, Cloud would tear Squall up with Omnislash (although Lionheart was quite powerful). I like FFVII's characters more than FFVIII's overall. Barret, Aeris, Vincent, Sephiroth (one of the best villains of any game, IMO), etc.

I think that all together, FFVIII's team would win. Because of the draw system...Squall could take any magic that Cloud had AND hold more.

In my opinion Final Fantasy VI's characters are better than either FF7 or FF8, but if I must choose from the two games I'd go with FF8. FF8 might have had flawed gameplay, but I still liked it for the story and characters.

Yes FFVII has great favourites (Barrett and Vincent?)
And ok FFVIII aren't that bad but lets not forget the best!!!

and of course when comparing Chars never ever ever forget they cant get as bad as Tidus FFX moan moan moan moan moan moan all the time!!!!

KEFKA pwns every FF character. But between 7 and 8... I'd have to say that FFVII definately would win. And that's not just because I like them more, either. Then again, if Squall and co. were to just spam their GFs forever like you do in the game... yeah, FF8's characters would win if they could use summons. Otherwise, they'd totally get pwned.
