  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Yes, I do want emphasize that while ferrets can be hilarious to watch, they are a lot of "TROUBLE" as well! They must be watched every second while they are out of their cage. Ideally they would have a playroom, empty except for their ferret-safe toys, water, and litter boxes or puppy pads(which I would be surprised if they didn't destroy those). My two were never as cuddly as a kitten, they never wanted to be held or lay in our lap. They can get inside your sofa, chairs, recliner, and will dig and tug at the insides, while in there, plus the danger of getting hurt or killed in there,if someone sits down on the furniture,or moves the recliner position! No wires are safe, and must be continously wiped down with Bitter Apple. If despite all this anyone feels they must have the experience of ferret ownership,I would suggest finding a ferret shelter in your area, that will take them if you find they are not what you hoped for after all! After trying unsuccessfully to sell mine in the paper after my husband's death,I ended up having to give them, and all their supplies FREE to a shelter! :sigh:

I have 1 ferret. Ferrets are NOT rodents so no they are not like rats. They are very curious. I've never had problems with health. Mine used to nip feet playfully(never drew blood or anything) but if he did it to hard I just held him firmly, looked him in the eye, and said "No" and if he is playing he knows how hard to/to not bite. Some ferrets that do bite may have had previous owners that hit them or neglected them. True they dont like to be held much because of their short attention span, but sometimes if you are walking them they might want to be held a couple seconds for reassurance. Most of the time they get along with animals such as dogs or cats, but sometimes they dont like the ferret because he is so different. Owning s ferret requires time and you must be patient. They can be litter trained like cats. They are adorable little things though! good luck!
