What sticks in my mind is the Prairie Vole and the studies that show they mate for life. How do you make an evolutionary connection between the hormones in the Prairie Vole and humans without all mammals having those hormones?

Perhaps you could start a thread about Prairie Voles and put the question out there?

I bought into the myth that as long as she was still feeding the babies she could not get pregnant. Now the problem is she can put up a really good fight and I do not feel like fighting with her to stuff her in a cage. Are you available to cage her for us? We would be glad to get her spayed if someone can get her in a cage.
There are a variety of places that provide services like that. That is, to take those animals and have them spayed/neutered. I know animal shelters generally do that to every animal they take in, and to any feral ones hanging around.

Yes, no one can be critical of me now. If they want the little ones fixed they can try to catch them.

You may have to trap them. Don't catch them with your bare hands. Get everyone to stop feeding them for a day or two and then put out food-baited traps. I think they will be hungry enough to ignore their scruples about traps. How did you catch the Tom, by the way?

I did not catch him the neighbor got him in a trap. That cat looks like a Maine Coon. I first saw him when the mother cat pointed him out to me two houses away. At first he got the Calico cat to beg food for him. He was the most diseased looking cat I had ever seen. His long hair was a dirty mess. Eventually he let me brush him out. He loves the attention. At first I tried to chase him off but he keeps coming back. It took me about four or five hours total to get him brushed out. Then he started walking around like a king and he started to take care of himself and groom himself.
