Delta77 said:HAhahh guys you know that Satan gets a kick out of it when we attack each other right? so can we prove if he is right or wrong? no we can't. Ephesians 4:29 Do not let any unwholsome talk come out of your mouths but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen."
so with that in mind! love, love, love!
So, these evil people who secretly control the world and want to make everyone miserable and dead so Satan will give them a thumbs up, have they been asleep at the wheel during the second half of the last century, as developments in industry, science, and medicine, combined with more enlightened social structures, have made our standard of living higher than that of any generation that has ever existed up until now? Did one of them jerk awake after a 3 decade reptilian slumber and say "We really dropped the ball on this one, look how happy everyone is, better burst this housing bubble, maybe that'll go some of the way to putting society back to where it was when you broke your back in a field and died of cholera when you were 32."
Isaiah 8:12 is a bit more relevant for these conspiracy threads, IMO.
You must live on a different planet to me, Cromulent!
Enlightened social structures? Standard of living? Developments in science?
Sure people live longer, but I see wage slaves, mortgage slaves, social breakdown, increased violence, increased child abuse, dumbed down, medicated children who wouldn't know history if it slapped them in the face (let alone where a carrot comes from!). I see monstrous weapons being developed, more and more centralisation of power... and...
... people thinking the world is getting better!
Isaiah 8:12 is a bit more relevant for these conspiracy threads, IMO.
Just because something isn't proven or disproven doesn't mean there is an equivalent level of evidence for either outcome, so it is not unreasonable to consider these constant conspiratorial ideas that never materialise a waste of time.
Coddling people in their wrong ideas can arguably be described as unloving too.
Yes, but we should do it in love. don't forget Romans 15:1 , "we who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves."
"Bear with" is somewhat vague.
Ultimately you do someone a disservice by letting them persist in error without correcting them.
okay, cool, well its between you and God anyway so peace out! =D
The period of time when all the doo-doo is gonna hit the fan.
Exactly when that time will come to an end (when Jesus returns) no-one knows.
It is my opinion, due to lots of secular research, that that time (season) is almost upon us. The fact that my secular research and the book of Revelation match each other, just confirms what I believe and strengthens my faith enormously!!!
When you say "almost upon us" are you anticipating that it will happen in the next few hours, days, weeks, months, years, decades? In this century or millennium?
I ask because when Jesus said, "This generation shall not pass...," a lot of his followers took him to mean that it would be within their lifetime and took life altering action on that belief only to be told much later that a thousand years was as a day and a day as a thousand years when it comes to this sort of prediction. As it turns out, two thousand years have passed. Apparently "this generation" means something more than two thousand years. So, I have to ask, when you refer to a "season" or "almost upon us" or "NOW", do you mean in THIS millennium or not? (And by "millennium, I mean a literal thousand years according to our modern calendar.)
I think that's a reasonable question under the circumstances.
Neither.
There are people contributing to it who are wrong.
I thought I answered this question.
Let me put it another way.
I expect the events of Revelations to unfold in my lifetime (I am 39 yo)

So don't Hal Lindsey and Jack van Impe who are 82 and 81 respectively.
So didn't the followers of William Miller. He died in 1849.
Well one of them is wrong. The other two probably. And I could be too.
