God created our bodies as houses for our souls and tabernacles for His Spirit. He also created them as instruments through which He would accomplish His will here on earth.
But the first stated purpose of mankind in the Bible is to reflect God's image in the earth. He created our bodies and all the complex functions that they perform to reflect His glorious image to all of creation.
What a high honor this is for mankind.

Sometimes the most profound truths are very simple. The power to
reach the world for Christ involves God's might through the Holy
Spirit, God's plan of beginning where we are and reaching out to
the world, and our willingness to tell others what God has done for
us in Jesus.

Good evening brothers and sisters.
When the Lord was resurrected from the tomb, all that was left behind were the filthy death shrouds...He no longer needed the signs that accompany decay of the body for He was risen up both whole and Holy, and didn't taste death at all. He left them behind and was clothed in the glistening robes of Glory and holiness.
We who have been resurrected in Christ Jesus, now also need to leave behind the unclean shrouds of sin that we once wore, the ones which held us constained physically and spiritually on the path that can only lead to death and decay...and instead put on the robes of righteousness which come through our believing in Christ as our Saviour from sin...acknowledging that He has given us the power to stop going back and picking up those shrouds we once wore.
Each day we can ask the Lord to help to help us in choosing to wear the new garments He has made available to us, rather than to try and return to the old shrouds which are but filthy rags of decay.

Though old I’m blessed these Autumn years
Though grey I’m flying high
Though full of joy I’m shedding tears
For those afraid to die​

Anointed with eternal grace
Baptized with Heaven’s Fire
Through Christ I’ll see my Father’s face
And reap all I desire​

Who would believe my evil past?
The years in Satan’s bed
Before I met The First & Last
Who raised me from the dead​

But Jesus has forgiven me
The Father’s vexed no more

Though mine the nails that brought His death
And spear in His side
Twas Christ Himself who gave me breath
