12 - 14 hour drive to get to florida beaches for us - thats why this summers plans are looking to be canceled now

David and I went on a great adventure last August. 22 states, 8400 miles...we would never be able to afford the gas now.

Nothing like road trips for sure ! I bet that was a blast - i love being in the car on a trip

We have a camper set up on a leased lot at one of the marinas at a lake here, bout a 40 minute drive, its nice, don't have to worry about looking for a camping place

It was wonderful. We may never be allowed that expense again and if not, I will always remember. We were gone a month. Saw most of the National Parks in the Southwest and up to Mt. Rushmore and Yellowstone. We had temperatures of 107 in San Antonio, TX to 37 up in S. Dakota. It even snowed up there

That is cool. I used to camp a lot as a kid. My parents had a trailer. We travelled most all the east coast.

I know - us either and my parents even live more than a 12 hour drive away - they cancelled plans to come visit us over memorial day because of the gas prices

We have a beautiful country. There are a lot of wide open spaces. I'm not used to that in DE.

I bet. We are here in Pa and really want to go North to Vermont and Maine and I always wanted to go to Boston, don't know why? Just always wanted to see Boston.

I haven't travelled much up north. I've been to NY but not anything further northeast. I'm more of a southern/southwest gal. I love heat and dry weather.

That's cool. I like the South too. Are furthest South we went was in Norfolk Va. We want to go further, just don't have the time and the gas would be terrible.

Did you go across the Bay Bridge Tunnel? That's pretty cool. The further south you go, the nicer the people are.

I don't remember a tunnel We went to a Navy base where her brother is stationed. I have noticed the further South the nicer the people. VA I had family that lived in Winchester and everyone was so nice there.

I had a brother in the Navy too. Sadly he was killed in an auto accident at the age of 24.

It's that southern hospitality. I love it.
