^ Amen! How about a link in our signatures?

Does look like we have a nice little family coming together. Build it, in prayer...they will come! LOL

Hi everyone, hope everyone's day went well. I'm Praising God that he helped me through my 1st day in training to work with the CFpets. A lot to take in, but what joy.

Please stand with me in agreement that all who are involved in this ministry, leader to member, continue to be led and filled with God's Spirit.

Sweet Sleep!

"A pretenious, showy life is an empty life; a plain and simple life is a full life." Proverbs 13:7 MSG

What are some ways that we can simplify our lives? If your life is anything like mine, it's hectic, overworked and overscheduled. I find myself in an endless whirl of activities and demands of my time. I feel like I'm on an out of control merry-go-round. Can anyone relate? But I'm resolving to step off that merry-go-round and start in another direction, and that direction is my pursuit after God and holiness.

I'm resolving to take small steps to change my life, for the better. I'm spending more time in prayer and meditation, and I'm asking God to show me ways to simplify and change the direction of my life. Would you like to go along with me? I'd like for you to share some ways that we can simplify our lives. I'll start. I think we each should pray each morning for God's wisdom on how we can best use our time that day.

PROVERBS 29:18 'Where there is no vision, the people perish.'

Good morning all Fellowshippers of the Unashamed!

Nice Sig.! May I?

I'll join with you on your pursuit of God and His holiness mcr!

I know what you mean about the merry-go-round, been known to say I feel like a hampster on the wheel, going nowhere, gaining no ground, same ole' scenery... when I find myself there I know I'm doing life more my own way, in my own strengh and in my own wisdom. *sigh* My, My, My, now that's going around the same old mountain!

I find that only by stopping by "Holy Spirit's Filling Station" every morning and filling up in prayer and on His Word do I run smoothly, on all 3 cylinders and pistons.

REGULAR Maintainance is hard when there are many distractions, (enemy loves this~keeping us from what's Really going on) so easy to put off til tomarrow-ruining us in the meantime-little by little. Changing out our minds and habits, yukkie out/off, new songs in and up! Waxing to keep us shiny, reflecting Christ and God's will in our lives, protecting what Jesus has already Finished. Unloading our cares and concerns to the only Master Mechanic, where we never need an appointment and He never has to redo His work: if we follow His advice.

Only an updated roadmap will get us to our desired destination, otherwise we'll have to turn around and get new instruction.

Thank God He's big enough to turn this 'lil tug boat around, but He want's us all to enjoy the ride and SEE that He IS the Captain.

In Christ ya'll, have a fill-up on Him!!! xo

I went on a media fast for nearly 3 years, as this took much of my time and attention.

Also, I had to get rid of a lot of stuff. I was forever cleaning and watching out for it, chasing my tail off.

In obedience to Holy Spirit's leading in these area, my socks have truly been blessed straight off!!! God has balanced me, taught me how to make way for more of what He wanted for me. He's given me more time, money, and things in the spiritual and natural I could only have wished I had; and dreamt for.

Pray, please, that I will quickly and joyfully take the next step I need to take. I'll pray the same for each of us!

What I want to discuss here is how do we know what God's will is and what His calling is on our life. What criteria do we use to determine if it's truly His will or just our own? How are we to determine that the calling we 'feel' is from God truly is from God?

How do you define holiness and how do you pursue it in your daily life?

I think holiness is walking in obedience to the understanding we've been given by the Holy Spirit at any given stage of our walk with Him.

Having a good understanding of His Word, is vital to obedience. Faith goes along way too.

Great questions, Mercy!

'Thank God! Once you were slaves of sin, but now you have obeyed with all your heart the new teaching God has given you. Now you are free from sin, your old master, and have become slaves to your new master, righteousness.' Romans 6:17

Vs.19 'Before, you let yourselves be slaves of impurity and lawlessness. Now you must choose to be slaves of rightousness so that you will become holy.'

Vs22b 'Now you do those things that lead to holiness...'

Hoping everyone has been enjoying the abundant life!

Have not seen jesusxchick or MaidinHisimage, miss hearing from them...

I agree 100% with you TrueColors:preach: :amen:
We must be taught/discipled in the ways of those things that lead to holiness, through prayer/relationship and diligent Bible study.

^Agreed. Who's on the Follow-up Committee? I elect TrueColors! xo

Interesting study mercy, holiness.

I grabbed a Bible and a Strong's Concordance and found in the Old Testament there was only 1 interpretation/application for the concept of holiness.

The Hebrew word qodesh, (#6944-derived from #6942's qadash) To be clean ceremonally or morally.

In the New Testament or covenant we see 6 different meanings.

From an awful thing to blameless, (most) holy (one)
To make holy, referring to a purifyer.
Godliness, the Gospel scheme.
Reverent, to be suitable, fit.
Godliness, as becometh holiness
Righteousness, Divine Character, sure, consecrated.

'Because we have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that can defile our body or spirit. And let us work toward complete purity because we fear God.' 2 Corinthians 7:1 Fear=Awe
I am certainly in Awe of our God!!! Praise be to Jesus!!!

'You must display a new nature because you are a new person, created in God's likeness-rightousness, holy, and true.' Ephesians 4:24

'For our earthly father's disciplined us for a few years, doing the best they knew how. But God's discipline is always right and good for us because it means we will share in His holiness.' Hebrews 12:10

Vs.12,13 'So take new grip with your tired hands and stand firm on your shaky legs. Mark out a straight path for your feet. Then those who follow you, though they are weak and lame, will not stumble and fall but will become strong.'

Jesus' work is completed, He is sitting down. He's left us with the responsibility of maintaining the righteousness that He paid for us and for our helping to teach others.

I've heard it said like this...Are you salt or a greenbean? Salt cleanses and perserves, green beans take on the flavor of any ole' thing. Sounds like tofu, yuk!

Lord thank you for your helping us in not becoming green beans!

How do we know God's will and calling?

Yet another good question that we all struggle with!!! Maybe too much if we're in right relationship with God, other's, and ourselves. I think we can miss the opportunities that the Lord Himself has opened for us, by our hesitation or fear. Fear of not pleasing Him, being in His perfect will, fear of not being ready or that it's not His voice. God is not the author of fear or confusion! His plans really aren't hidden from us, He's not like; "I hope they figure it out."

I do believe, as The Word tells us, that God establishes our thoughts, and our comings and goings!

We know His voice and follow Him.

What is our criteria for figuring out whether it's "just us" or His lead?

If we are in right relationships!
Does it line up with scripture?
Does Holy Spirit bear witness with ours?
Circumstances, are the doors open?

Okay, I have a question in regard to holiness. If it is our responsibility to teach others...what are some of those things we are to teach?
