People say no, but then gradual movement in that direction could make sense. Or economic catastrophe could mean that’s all that survives. I see it as a distant goal. I position myself as a maker, as independent from corporatism as possible in a world of oligarchical corporatism.

That's the thing. The Scripture says "seemed" or "appeared" to be a fatal wound. Initially people thought he was shot dead in the head. Tonight at the convention Trump talked in detail about how everyone in the crowd thought he was dead, and that it was a miracle he survived. He spoke about how they thought it was a fatal head shot, but he "rose." I also note that it was his right ear, and tonight I remembered Peter striking the right ear off in the garden when they came for Jesus. The devil makes a mockery of everything godly, twists it all up.

I'm as conservative as anyone and I don't want Trump to be the antichrist and I have wanted him to be reelected this whole time, but I can't shake what I heard that woke me and what I was lead to remember, to read, to see, and to understand. I'm not saying I'm right. I'm hoping I'm not, actually. I'm just heartbroken, nervous, and honestly more mind screwed than anything right now. It's all so strange.

While I said I thought you were overthinking it I should also say maybe you are on to something.

Consider that something else may be it play too. Our Lady of Fatima may be involved. Trump might have had a Damascus Road experience. God may have sent him a message for the salvation of his own checkered soul, and he might just maybe have a purpose for God.

So be cautious. Don’t be sold out for Trump. Get your own soul straight, as we all should. And time will tell. Be not afraid.

We will have to see, and strive for helping our world without the need for large companies, before Jesus returns.

I can see where you're coming from, certainly. I briefly entertained the same idea, though not seriously.

I still remember the absolute chill that went through me when I first saw how Obama was basically worshipped by many. I know what I felt in my spirit with that one and I remain wary of him.

Then, Trump came on the scene. I've never cared for Trump, I'll be honest. He had a reputation way before he became POTUS. Despite the vitriol thrown his way (and let's be honest- he started quite a bit of it first) many others practically worship him the way many did with Obama. I still remember when many famous people who claim to be Trump's enemies now were buddy buddy with him in the same social circles, and so I've maintained my skepticism, because something still doesn't sit right with me about it. I just don't trust him. Both men (Obama and Trump) are arrogant in concerning ways.

The way many Christians have willingly jumped on the Trump train only has me thinking about how many will be deceived. The fact that Elon Musk is all about the Trump support too, is suspect to me, as well. Mr. Neuralink Chip's endorsement should make anyone wary.

The fact is, I see many world leaders who all seem like they could tick certain boxes when it comes to certain characteristics of a certain individual.

Put not your trust in princes, in sons of men in whom there is no salvation.

It's probably just overthinking. Yes, there are some parallels but then just because Trump has a potty mouth doesn't make him a lion.

The idea that the Democrats are the good guys in all of this is too much for me. I just can't go there. I am willing to contemplate BOTH parties being the bad guys, or the Republicans as maybe a bit less bad, but not the Democrats as the good guys. Non-starter for me.

I think if we had seen Trump's brains splattered AND THEN HE RECOVERED I would say you must be on to something. But since it was an 'almost' but still a 'not quite' I suspect that nobody is marveling that he recovered. Perhaps marveling that he turned his head just enough. But that's different.

I'm not saying everything is good. The times get scarier every day almost. I don't know if it is apocalyptic bad or merely civil war bad or eventually passing bad. I'm just thinking it's time for me to be ready, and to share the good news more than I have, and to start cramming for the final whether that is a second coming or my personal someday demise. Maybe Maranatha.

I'm choosing to talk about this in OBOB in fellowship with you all who have in some cases been long time CF friends. I really do not care to venture outside of this specific forum for any reason, and many of you know why.

I was laying down to go to sleep last night after watching more of the GOP Convention. Kai's cute speech about her grandpa, JD's awesome speech, just a good night. I've been all in on Trump since 2016. But last night when I was in that in-between phase of sleep, I heard 5 words spoken that made me jump out of bed: Beast, Head Wound, Miracle, Careful. And the image of Trump's bloody face with his fist raised to the sky with the American flag in the background came to my mind and stayed stuck there for some time. I immediately opened my Bible to Revelation 13 to read about this again. The dragon whom the world worships gave power to the beast, who has the mouth of a lion, who received what appeared to be a fatal head wound, but he miraculously recovered and all the world marvelled. He was given power for 42 months, almost the term of the presidency. My heart started racing. It's an absolute miracle that Trump, appearing to be shot in the head, was only grazed on the ear, and he rose triumphantly, as the whole world calls it a miracle. Many people are seeing a different Trump now, and many who weren't before are now sympathetic to his side of things. The world's leaders released positive statements about Trump, hoping and "praying" for his protection and healing, calling for unity. The Democrats are toning down some of the rhetoric, and turning on Biden. Trump is smashing him in the polls.

And then the "mouth of a lion" caught my attention and I remembered Trump's sometimes foul mouth, and I remembered how Donald Trump Jr on several occasions last night called his father a lion, said that he had the heart of a lion.

Now, the whole world doesn't love and worship Trump (yet???? ever???? I'm just sharing my experiences from last night), and I can't see a world in which the LGBT and abortion Leftist Dems are the actual good guys (my opinion), but this shocked me to my core and I thought I would tell you all about it. I couldn't sleep for quite some time.

These days it is better to err on the side of "over-praying" with Holy Scripture under the guidance of the Spirit of God, than over-thinking, for sure, which the evil one showed to be a good opening for temptations to his side of things. Remember Eve's pondering over the goodness of the forbidden fruit in the Garden. Disasterous consequences.

On the other hand, there is much in the attempted assassination attempt to lead to the strong possibility that this was not only a miracle, but a link to a very similar event: the attempt on Pope St. JPII, which he saw to be (correctly, I am now sure) a direct intervention by the Blessed Mother to save his life. Our Lady of Fatima then in JPII's case; now, Our Lady Mystical Rose, in DJT's case. Both cases linked also by the date - July 13. Both miracles guided (I now believe) by Our Lady's hand. Both cases linked in several other ways, which you can find if you search it out.
My point: I believe Our Lady, Our Blessed Mother, is calling our next president (Lord willing) into the One Church. Yes, a "globalism" not in the demonic sense it is being sought today by many in this world, but in the true way:

Eph 4:4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call,
Eph 4:5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism,
Eph 4:6 one God and Father of us all, who is above all and through all and in all.

Perhaps related also to this is the fact that Melania, when she and Donald met briefly with Pope Francis, she held out her hand holding her Rosary for his blessing, which he did bless in the name of the Church. Let us pray that she, a Catholic, can help Donald understand this significance that July 13 may have for him, through the Blessed Mother's (possible, but I believe it) intervention in his life. There is much - much - to hope for here!
