Fellowship and Introductions

Hi All,

Thought I'd say hi and start the introductions. I'm one of the mods that will be with you here in this new forum. I love to read, write, talk, play computer games (strategy and simulation) and I love animals. I love the Lord, and I'm thankful for all He has done in my life.

I hope this forum will be a place for fellowship, growth, and praise for God. I look forward to getting to know a bit more about each of you and encourage you to bring His peace to this new home.

My pm is always open, though I work a few long days which limit my time on those days. If you are in need of prayer, I would be honored to pray with you. I hope you'll be blessed beyond measure as God leads you in His will. I pray He draws us each closer to Him.

Hello! You may find me lurking a bit, but I have a hard time not saying anything, so that may be short lived.

I'm here merely to learn. I've heard that SDA's are similar to Messianics.

I love any group that is open to discussion and dialogue!

This bes Moriah. It bes former SDA. It has the distinction of probably being the only (former) SDA Theology major to ever be expelled from an SDA college for worshipping Satan (a misconstruing in some respects by the fearful and unbelieving who did not know what to do with unvarnished honesty from someone suffering deeply). (AND it got all A marks in Koine Greek ... coincidence??? )

I'm a former. I was in the church for about 25 years and left about 4-5 years ago. I don't post a lot, one reason is I"m not as computer savvy as I would like to be. I get really frustrated with the computer My husband was a life long SDA, but I showed him the error of his ways!!!!!

I'm a fulltime college student so able to only get on from Friday to Sunday once in awhile during the week most the time study, study study. <but I graduate in May God Bless you alll and WELCOME

I have always been a big fan of the civilzation series of computer games, and most of my computer game library is strategy or simulation.

As it is, I am a seventh-day adventist, either a liberal or a moderate (or a conservative?) depending on who is doing the asking.

Hi Carol.
Dating this one's "former-ness" would be difficult. It entered the SDA church as a "convert" shortly after it experienced its first direct encounter with God at the age of 16. Went to one of their colleges intending on entering the ministry and naively had no clue that someone would consider its reproductive plumbing an issue in that regard. But that bes not what soured the whole deal ... what did would be a very long story and likely bore you to tears though ... it bes a lot of things ... but basically it left the SDAs and it left faith period about 2 years later. Well, "left" bes another tricksy word whats not accurate ... "dragged kicking and screaming away against its will" bes more truthful in that regard.

However, every time since then that it tried to come back to faith in God/Christ it tried to go back to the SDAs, up until the autumn of 2006 when that stranglehold bes finally smashed and it realised otherwise. It realised that the toxic soteriology came from there and bes not a fluke of extremism but intrinsic to the denominational POV. And once the toxic soteriology stranglehold bes broken, then it realises it can be free and not havesies to go to SDAs in order to belong to God. In fact the SDAs failed because they try to teach a religion of human will power instead of real power from God. It tasted this power for a short time so it knows the reality what it bes seeksy now, even though them humans took away its joy and peace and destroyed it and consigned it to Satan again. They do that a lot. It wishes they would stop.
