  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I do web page design.... try to learn as much as I can, but what I know I have taught myself, and I don't have all the time in the world, as I am a nurse, and you know how the medical profession is.....
:) Thats how I was/am.... I have been a total goof off. Kinda just breezed through schooling and spent a lot of time being a computer geek.

Self-taught on most programing launges and other computer related skills.

Never even seen college. Got lucky with my job, knew a good friend who got me in the door.

I was struggling for awhile becuase they tend to hire people with paper, even if you know more than the guy with the piece of paper. I work with people everyday that have PHD's and other things that say they are smarter than me, and for some reason, I'm answering thier questions and explaining why they see a blue screen.....

hehehe :D

This might sound corny, but I doodle a lot of my ideas on a sheet of paper.

Then I try to bring it all together in Adobe Photoshop, and figure out how to make it work realistically within a browser.

For coding I use simple Notepad, but Macromedia Dreamweaver is also good as a coding and visualization aid.

:)

I do freelance web design and development. It started out as a hobby over 5 years ago, but gradually became my profession of choice.

What I've been mainly focusing lately is becoming better at the visual design aspect of web sites. Writing code is easy; being able to match that with killer visuals is the tricky part.

Same for me.
I get to maintain the College & Career site for my church.
I'm not very good yet though.:)

I do website design for sites I own/help-out-with(including the one in my profile). And I've done a few designs for friends.

Sweet! Someone who still believes in using Notepad for coding and in starting on paper. I do the same, but use Paint Shop Pro instead of Photoshop during the "paper to pixel" stage.

I used to play around with web design but then college started and...well, I just don't have the time anymore. ;)

Back when I did it, I had big dreams and I was always inspired by my favorite companies (Christian): http://www.pixelgrazer.com and http://www.plainjoestudios.com because they are top-notch! :)

My code is compliant with W3C, so my XHTML and CSS is all done right. ;)

So is mine, but tell me this, is your binarydreams website w3c complaint?

Becuase I have had one heck of a time getting vbulletin to be anywhere near w3c complaint. The software is nice, but the end product html is a horrific mess.

As for Stryper I wouldn't know what kind of classes to recommend. I never took any computer classes or went to college. I just have years of self taught experince.

I suppose a good introductionary class into basic langues would be good. And I would recommend finding onlien tutorials and lots of pratice at the same time. And expand your horizion.

I was never good with the classroom envoriment.

The forums are not, yet. Everything else on my site is though. Once vB3 final is released, it will be XHTML compliant. ;)
