Yes, me too. :)

Sadly, doves are not great best builders, but they often find creative little spots to hatch and raise their babies.

Awwwww i was sooo sorry they left. She had found a spoke right in the corner of the window sill which was kinda deep...i didn't know she was there except for her cooing

There has been a nesting pair of doves, and probably some of their offspring by now, return to the same nest for about 5 years in a row now. It's amazing every spring when they arrive to stake out that shady spot under the gazebo where last year's nest has been vacant for 12 months.

[edit] I didn't mention the nest is in a hanging planted pot. The nest was originally built by another bird species, I forget which, and the doves commandeered the nest. It's been theirs for 5 years now. They rarely, if at all, make improvements.

Yes, they can be very ingenious, that's for sure. I'm glad that particular pair has found a good place to raise their young. :)

Exactly! For me too. Little Sable helps with my anxiety so much. I can truly see why doves are a symbol of peace.

Here are two photos of my white dove, Loki. Sadly, she died a few years ago.

My avatar is one of the photos, and it's actually a combination of two different photos I took.

I had two mallards when I was a kid. When I graduated from college I had a small finch aviary. I haven't had pet birds for a long time now. I get a lot of backyard birds, though. Here's a watercolor I did of a young Northern Cardinal.

That's very pretty! I get to see lots of Cardinals around here. They are lovely birds. :)

Here is the painting I did of a peacock. :)

It's painted on a full sheet of Bristol board. My dad built a custom frame for it and it hangs in m parents' living room.

This is one of my facourite photos:

IMG_2291.JPG

It's a picture I took of one of my hens. Her name was Ginger. She was very friendly, curious and had a lot of attitude. I think this picture shows some of her personality. :)
