  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I have always had good comfortable jobs where I was able to be comfortable most of the day and was allowed to relieve my feet at some point or another.

Right now I walk for 4 hour straight carrying heavy boxes all day and then I take a lunch and then again carry them for another 4 hours straight with no breaks or relief.

When I get home my feet are killing me. I want to go do other things but my feet hurt too bad.

What are some things I can do to relieve my foot pain?

good supportive shoes....good arch supports...and a piece of advice I got on how to survive the 12 hour shifts nurse work, is to change your shoes halfway through the shift so the support on your foot changes...I don't do it all the time but I do see a difference if I use it. My work shoes are just for work so I don't wear them down faster than I already do.

My feet have been better since my son started massaging them periodically. I used to think my arches were just tired but he found literal muscle cramps in them. Once he worked those out (and man did that hurt), my feet don't hurt as often and I don't need foot rub downs daily.

He is a good kid. He rubs my back after a long shift too if I ask. My kids appreciate me .... I think they want me to stick around a while and keep paying the bills. ;) (now if I could come up with a magic potion that got them to wash their own dishes, that would be magic).

Mostly, all my daughter wants of me is for me to sit my butt in the bleachers and watch her skating practices and as many softball games as I can make. I did make the first game of her softball tournament today after working 13 hours...I was so tired that I was shaking by the end of the game but it was worth it. (They ended up coming in 2nd place and although I didn't see that, I made one of the games and I guess that counts).

I work 12 hour shifts and am on my feet for at least 11 of that. Leaves me in a lot of pain by the time it's over.

Iv done lots of 12 hour shifts and if I can get off my feet for a few minutes every couple of hours I am ok but right now it is for hours straight with no feet rest and that is what is bothering me. I am even wearing really comfortable Bates tactical boots which fit like a glove but my feet are dying. I am just going to start taking a five minute break every few hours.

New Balance tennis shoes with Superfeet arch supports .... and an occasional foot rub from my son to get the knots out of my arches ... and my feet don't hurt very much anymore ... even after three 12 hour shifts in a row (mostly standing & walking). Can feet get in better conditions with use? They used to kill me all the time.

Come on and admit it, your son does not really rub your feet, your just making that up to brag. No kid in the world rubs their mothers feet without being beat to do so. Do you beat your son BR? Is he scared to tell his mom no? Come on admit it, you pour grave on your feet and the dog licks it off.

LOL...my daughter rubs my feet too...but not as long and she gets distracted quickly. He probably ought to have gone to massage therapy school...he considered chiropractic school...but his goal is occupational therapy now.

Get good quality boots.

I used to work as a kitchen hand often doing 12 hour shifts.

When I started I was using Nike Basketball shoes and my feet, back and legs were in alot of pain.

After the first few days I got some nice leather safety boots, and my body was fine even after a 12 hour shift.
