God is pretty faithful... I trust that He will get me through, for I could never do it on my own. So, since God is trustworthy and since He keeps His promises, I'm feeling pretty secure in my salvation.

Meh, I doubt my own salvation on a constant basis, considering some of the sinful actions I have not been able to get under control. I dont bother worrying about others if I can help it.

I'm not Eastern Orthodox, but I also believe it's possible to be saved and fall away.

I do think there is a salvation we receive now, like a downpayment, but there is also a salvation that is to come.

And as in the parable of the seed, we can receive salvation but just as quickly lose it, if we don't work out our salvation with fear and trembling.


(Rom 13:11) Do this, knowing the time, that it is already the hour for you to awaken from sleep; for now salvation is nearer to us than when we believed.


There seems to be a requirement to ensure salvation...

(1Ti 4:16) Pay close attention to yourself and to your teaching; persevere in these things, for as you do this you will ensure salvation both for yourself and for those who hear you.


A growing into salvation...

He appears a second time for salvation...

Great post and I completely agree with it. We, like Paul and every Christian are working out our salvation.
Also like Paul, our Spirit is willing but our flesh is weak.

There are other good scriptures to add to the ones you have posted. If it weren't so late and I were not so tired (just got home from Prayer Meeting) I would proceed to look them up. Later maybe.
There is one about backsliders that compares them to dogs returning to their vomit. No other scripture has ever gut punched me like that one.
Yeah, I am a sinner like all of you. Have slipped far too many times. But, like Brother Paul, do try to run the race to the finish.

I feel this way also, God came to me and showed me a light to a right path, was church-less and a daily sinner, began to change my ways and take off the old wine skin. God is faithful and gets me through daily.

May God work different ways with each individual? I dunno. But do know he has made a difference in my life.

Explain me why you are so sure to be saved and not so sure that John 14:14 works.

What does this have to do with salvation? Uh... nothing. You are trying to place faith in God saving at the same level as faith in God healing, or moving mountains, or whatever.

This is what we must do to be saved: "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved" Acts 16:31. And also, "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Rom 10:9

Indeed, we may humbly pray to God to increase our poor faith, no problem. However, I strongly disagree that Mary would ever "soften" God's attitude towards us. Plus, I rather God be more disciplinary toward myself, for instance, so as I could glorify His name more, for that is the chief end of man. Recognize also that Mary is not worthy of being prayed to, only God. Mary is not God.
