Feeling scared...

I wanted to post this early sketch or ink drawing with my testimony but I wasn't able to locate it when I first had the idea to put it here.

That's me as a little girl sitting on the front steps of my porch looking sad and lonely. Of course, that's Jesus holding out His arms to a frightened Amy. If you are unable to read what they are saying I posted the words:

Upper left hand corner near eye: "Where are you mommy, daddy? I am scared! Please hold me!"

Jesus is saying: "Ah dear Father, see! The poor little child has been left alone. How I long to wipe away her tears and hold her close to My heart. Child! Child! Athough thy mother and father forsake thee ~ I will not!"

Ever feel like a lost, frightened child? I know I do...

But the caption reads on the right near Jesus: "Jesus was there at the very beginning."

AND He always will be!

Well, again I am facing a kind of scary situation. Back in April of last year I had a flood and lost just about everything below a 3 foot water mark. I was out of my apartment for about a month.

I'm not worried about my material pocessions. This time around I have flood insurance. It's just the idea of giving up my privacy and being under someone's microscope again. When you live with others like it or not, people watch what you do. The last person I stayed with really did me harm by spreading gossip and greatly exaggerating some things.

Also the place where I am living is very cheap, all utilities included. It is really in a decent area (except it is flood territory.) If i have to move, depending on how bad the flood is, it will be very hard to find something this inexpensive.

The good news is the experts are predicting it will not be as bad as the flood last April. We are even hoping the water doesn't come over our banks. I would appreciate your prayers.

Hi Amy,

Another post which I find a blessing. I love that picture of Jesus holding out His Arms offering comfort because in 2004 I two experiences of grief which were both only four months apart. The first experience of grief was my Nanna's death and the second was the death of our darling 18 year old cat Pixie (who we had had since she was only a few weeks old). It's hard to believe but I didn't want Jesus' Love and Comfort (or God's) but thankfully in May 2005 I was able to return to His Endless Love.

Even with flood insurance , ( if you haven't already ) it would appear prudent to station as many valuables as possible on sturdy supports which would elevate them above previous " 3 foot water mark " . Such may even minimize insurance premiums , once installed and made apparent to Ins. co. .

Better are they , who when ready , meet with disaster ; then they to whom great fortune falls unprepared .

....Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us ... , and he will deliver us... But if not, ... we will not serve [ other ] gods, nor worship [ a man-made ] image ... <---> From Daniel 3:17+18

Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him... <---> Job 13:15

From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

Yea , God is a God of Compensation , and The Lord's Compensation is so Grand and Everlasting that those who have not had to suffer and endure hardship and tribulation for His Holy Name's Sake , will sorely wish that they would have !

Yeah me too! That's the verse I took my username from. See? I am spiritual after all and not just a romantic, fanciful person

There is a worship song that came out about eight years ago by Kevin Prosh based on Psalm 2:10-12 The song was about suffering and trials but the chourus said, "But I bow down and kiss the Son." I love that song. It would always make me cry.

Thank you all for you prayers and comments. I was very much uplifted and encouraged. Looks like I get to stay with Jesus by myself. I don't have to give up my privacy. The flood water's crested and came to the top of our banks. They did not overflow into the parking lot. Nothig happen to the apartment. Yaaaaaayyyy!

Good post and picture... Jesus is a friend who "...sticketh closer than a brother..." -- It is in times of hardship and fear, and when life seems such that we cannot lean on anyone; It is in those times that we can press more closely to the Lord. Truly, it was no lie when he promised us, saying, "...I will never leave thee nor forsake thee..." and "...Lo, I will be with you always, even unto the end of the world."
