Feeling like someone is there when you pray

Sometimes when I pray I feel like someone is right on the side of me and it a bad presents. What is it and why is it there? And do I have a gift from God (desernment of spirits) because I can sometimes feel a good presents and some times a bad one. But anyway please help me on this.

P.S. Also I even get scared while I pray and open my eyes to see if anybody is there thats how much I can feel that, somebody is there.

I feel exactly the same thing. when I spoke to my vicar about this he said that I was very sensitive to the spirits around me. When I am in certain situations I can feel an evil spirit next to me or close by or if I walk into a room I sense something evil. Mheart races before I even sense something sometimes. Do not let this worry you as you have Jesus. I am actually glad that I sense the evil around some people.
I paticularly get it when I am in prayer and someone steps into the prayer meeting, sometimes I have to open my eyes to see who it was. You know I get this sense of evil when my husband is around me. I feel like something from the past is attached to him that wont let go but I do sense it is there. I actually feel the presence but it doesnt bother me. Its like I feel the good presence and the evil presence and I think thats fantastic.
I do believe it is a gift from God. A discernment of spirits, like you say. Maybe someone else can answer this as I would love to hear more about it too.

Why not just ask the Holy Spirit to cast out this evil spirit that you are feeling?

Sometimes Problems are so obvious when you right them down. But can anyone tell me how to know if you have one of the gifts of the holy spirit.
1. What are the names of all of them
2. What are the signs that let you know you have them.
3. And how many of them are they?

Evil flees when it hears us pray, how can it be standing next to you?

I feel a good or bad presence sometimes, but not in prayer, yet when I'm doing something like brushing my teeth, or doing laundry, the feeling just arrives.

Maybe your prayers are not coming from the Heart?! Just your lips, because evil flees from any sound of the Lord's name.

why do we automaticaly shout witch? just because a person says thier prayers in a different language.

this has nothing to do with his prayers pr how he prays, but the fact that he said he felt a bad presence!! Where are you getting all of this other stuff? Please tell me how advising him to pray about it and cast this bad feeling away is "mechanical and cold" as you say? I don't see how turning to the Holy Spirit is ever mechanical or cold.

To know that their is an evil presense with someone or by their side is good because then when we feel this we are able to ask the spirit to leave.
If evil is attached to another person and God is showing you this then dont you think its agood thing?

Little does the world know but we all have evil spirits following our every move, otherwise we would be sinless. We should not ignore the fact that their are evil spirits everywhere we go.

What this person is discribing is Real. To have a sensitivity to other spirits is a good thing. This does not mean that he is not praying from the heart. I will tell you, if people all over were praying from the heart then we would be seeing many healings, and I believe that. We need Faith when we pray, God knows our heart.

I had no doubt that what this person experienced wasn't real. I know these things happen, I know many people that it has happened to. I have a friend who is physically restrained by spirits and the only way to get rid of them is to call on the Holy Spirit.

I too have felt similar feelings - but I couldn't tell you if they were legitimate or from my imagination. I since have prayed that God would place a guardian angle at each of the four corners of my property and that he would not let anything that shouldn't pass. This I believe has worked. Since then however there has been a huge influx of JW's and Mormans coming to my door, though I haven't found this to be a bad thing. Yes it may be the adversary trying to find other ways to get at me but I have actually found my faith to be tested and become stronger from these experiences.
