• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

    If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

    If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together.   • Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private.   • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I've really been having difficult times. My mental illness has been giving me delusions and hallucinations about God's feelings toward me. It's hard to have faith when you're always struggling just to think straight. I feel better today. I thank God above for His faithfulness. These verses mean a lot to me.

My delusions have centered around the notion that God won't hear my prayer, He won't forgive me because I'm struggling in sin, basically a delusion of who God is and His character. I've taken the lies of Satan and put a face to them, and called it God.

As I have mercy on myself, knowing the struggles I go thru, I know that Jesus can have even more mercy than I can. He knew me a lot more intense and longer than I've known myself. The hallucinations may not be true hallunincations. All I know is there are random tormenting thoughts that ramble through my head when I'm sick.

What I need to do is simplify. Take a piece of paper, and write 5 so basic verses, that start by tackling the #1 problem I have: Does God want to show grace to me today? Then keep going.

I'm going to write down some questions I struggle with, and I need help finding a short verse or two that answers my questions.

#1 As God's child, does God want to show me grace and love today?
#2 Is He willing to show that grace and love, despite the fact that I feel trapped in my sin?
#3 Is God as concerned for me as He is someone who looks like they have it all together?
#4 Does He know I am sorry for being in the wrong, when I confess my sins? Does He pity me? Does He wait for me?
#5 Is God for me? Will He perfect my faith someday?
#6 If I get confused when I am sick in the head, will He lift me out of the torment into a gentle path?
