This law in Virginia was approved by the DOJ as being in accordance with the Constitution in 2006 when this law was enacted and this law has been used within the 90 day window by Democratic governor's in the past more than once.
This is in no wise "purging" the voter rolls because it is specific to people who have self-identified as being here in the country illegally (at the DMV), and have also registered to vote or otherwise been found on the voter rolls.
These people are informed and they are given 14 days to respond with proof of their eligibility to vote.
If they disagree with the results of any determination, they can still cast a provisional ballot while the matter of eligibility is cleared up.
This law is wonderful when it is Democrats enacting it but bad when Republicans do? Really?
These 1600 people have self identified as being here illegally and their constitutional rights were never in danger, and there's no danger of a citizen being denied a vote since if they disagreed they can still cast a provisional ballot while matters get straightened out.
To keep, and legally fight to keep 1600 self identified illegals on the voter rolls when it's against both state and federal law for them to vote is absolutely and 100% unjust to the citizens in the state of Virginia and risks their constitutional rights to representation.
What if, in a close election that has a spread of 900 votes difference Trump wins the election by 300 votes.
Then later we find, after the certification of the election, that 1400 illegals all voted for Trump.
Would that not be deprivation of the constitutional rights of Virginians this election for someone picked by illegals won instead of who the citizens wanted?
You can't turn the clock on this. Have to say I am more than just appalled at this administration, I'm downright angry.
They aim to dilute my vote with illegals? More than just a hard no in that... These are my constitutional rights people are playing with.
