Interesting time to cut rates, on this one I may have tol disagree with the President. Interest rates need to be hiked to promote saving and investing before the next recession, where doing so then would be hard.

As someone who is in the process of moving, I enjoyed locking in an interest rate yesterday that was a quarter point lower than where it was on Wednesday. Otherwise, the lack of savings is a long term problem that isn't going to go away as long as the Federal Reserve exists. Politically speaking jacking up interest rates would be a disaster, it would basically kill the economy. No President will put up with that.
