I’m terrified of the devil. What can I do about this fear?

The devil is a very big mean dog... you need a much bigger dog on your side. You need to accept Christ and be born again - relying on the power of God's Word that is "living and active and sharper than a two-edged sword".

And do NOT watch entertainment (games, videos, music) that is designed, directed and produced by the devil to mess with your mind.

Read this - The Story of Redemption

Eph 6:
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist on the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. 14 Stand firm therefore, having belted your waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having strapped on your feet the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

"Put on the full armor" and pay no attention to the devil's entertainment , music, games, videos... because doing so simply "invites him".

Use the scriptures against him, even as Christ did when he faced the devil's temptations.
When I am feeling anxious, I like to quote this:"God has not given me a spirit of fear,
but of power, and of love, and a sound mind."
2 Timothy 1:7

Yes there's "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever." Psa 111:10

How to have the fear of the Lord:" (Pro 2:1-5).

"In the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord there is strong confidence, and His children shall always have a place of refuge." (Pro 14:26)

You will have to realize that greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world....And that no weapon forms against you shall prosper.

And no, you are not supposed to "fear" God....but you would be wise to reverence and respect Him and His power.......One way to show this is to know that no devil can stand against Him.

If you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour then you have no reason to fear the devil.

However if by christian you mean someone who sometimes goes to church, then you have every reason to fear him.

May I suggest, if you are uncertain that you check out the ChristianityExplored web site for a church in your area that runs this course and start attending that church.

It has all the answers from start to finish and not just the past but also the future with info about the end of Satan. It pulls back the curtain so you can see what is going on in the invisible realm and the Bible fact that "greater is He that is in you - than he that is in the world". 1 John 4:4

This happened to me, for a while I was scared even to read the Bible because I thought Satan would attack me if I did. I talked to my mom about it and she forced me to read the Bible, and I’m glad she did. Reading the Bible, praying, and spending time with God was scary at first, but eventually all fear went away.

Welcome to CF. There is no fear in love and God is love. Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.
Blessings

Well we should rather fear God than the devil. Even if the devil attacked me, I would actually be afraid of God at that point because the only reason why the devil would even attack anyone is if God allows him to. Think about it.

What can you do.. trust in cling to rely on Jesus Christ. God said He has not given you the spirit of fear but of power love and a sound mind. Thats what you say when FEAR pops up. See Satan is the father of lies he can not tell the truth. God can not ever do evil. What we do is look to what He said in His word. No joy.. look it up for He said the JOY of the lord is your strength. Weak.. He said you are strong in the lord in the power of HIS might. You have HIS peace.. you put on HIS armor.. haha its ALL HIM! You have nothing ever to fear.. again FEAR is not from God.

Mans fear is not the same as the "fear of God". That means to recognize His authority, dominion, worth, and supremacy, reverence and respect.

See the more we get away from God the enemy comes in.. its not God allowing it.. He has to.. we made the choice to do what ever it is we are doing. For He already said greater is He that is in you than he thats in the world. He said I give you ALL not some not a tiny bit but ALL POWER/AUTHORITY over the enemy. Resist him he has to flee.. you have HIS NAME that name above ever name.. ALWAYS speak His name! Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
