I can pray with other people out loud but when it comes to being a lone like say in the car or by myself I can not talk out loud to God.

Any ideas to over come this?

Hello Born2Serve,

I have struggled with the exact same thing in the past. You just need to do it. The more you pray aloud, the more comfortable you will be doing it.

Also, the Devil doesn't want us to pray out loud because it practices our authority over him. He must bow to the name of Jesus, so he will tell you that you sound foolish, but you don't! Rebuke him in Jesus name to leave you alone!

When I first started praying out loud, I had music playing. You may find that it eases the discomfort as well. Since you aren't hearing just your own voice.

Blessings,
FIHH

Watch the movie 'Dead Poets Society'. Fears must be faced.

I understand how you feel. It does feel weird to talk out loud when I'm alone. But then, remember you aren't alone. Talk to God as if He is in the room or car with you, because He is! :p ForeverInHisHand's idea about the radio is good. I was praying in the car today and it seemed a lot easier with the radio on.

are we suppose to pray out loud. I never get time alone. I can't pray in front of others, I don't dare. I hope this doesn't mean I am a non christian.
Christians aren't required to pray out loud. It's just helpful sometimes.

How you pray has nothing to do with whether or not you're a Christian. Salvation comes by grace, through faith. It is the gift of God.
