• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Hi everyone,

Id like to reach out in concern over something. For the past week I’ve been excessively worried over apostasy and wether I’ve committed it and left Jesus. But deep down I know I haven’t.But something alarming happened and I quickly repented.

So prior to coming out of a backslidden state when I was around 10-14,I was obsessed with online scary stories called “creepy pastas” which to this day I regret ever associating with due to the psychological trauma and torment they have placed in intrusive thoughts in my mind. But over the past months I’ve rarely watched obviously staged and fake scary videos from a bunch of actors on YouTube without concern, but tonight, since I’m a Minecraft player,I decided to look up out of curiosity a theory about a “virus/unknown player that haunts worlds” however once I noticed the word “creepy pasta” I IMMEDIATELY closed the window and immediately said a prayer of repentance.

But I’m worried about returning to the vomit I’ve left.I don’t have any desire to return to the horrible state I was in before I committed to and loved Jesus. However worry still remains in reminants,Should this be a cause for concern?

The bible says:

1Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

God is faithful sticks there with us, and he is just, will not withhold forgiveness from us.

There is no sin in what you did, but even if there was God can be trusted to forgive you, as you move back onto his pathway.

only Christians worry about this, non christians are unconcerned about any form of sin.

So be reasured because you are worried you are still Christs.
