I found this site today...
I lost my wife 5 months ago to Cancer..She was only 55............We had no children..

I have been miserable ever since...I was all alone for the holidays and everyday...
I fear everything now...I have always had some anxiety, but we were a team and made all decisions together.. Now I'm all alone..I'm even scared of the dark or to make decisions..I have a brother who lives about 200 miles away, but he doesnt understand and can not tolerate any emotional behavior on my part..like crying etc..He has been nice, but his main answer is that all couples will go thru this...

I need to feel God's love and peace more in my life..I pray and read the Bible, but I still have tremendous lonliness and fear...
I need assurance that I wil go to heaven to be with God and my wife...

i'm not working so I'm also scared about what happens when health insurance runs out or if I become homeless etc...
FEAR FEAR FEAR AND LONLINESS..I miss my wife so much, I always thought that I would die first..
Please help !!!!!!!!

Welcome, Ken L. I think our losses were around the same time, and my dh also had cancer. We also did not have children. I'm sorry that your brother has trouble knowing how to relate to you. About your work, I'm not sure what to say. Talk to your insurance provider or whoever you can about it.
I am praying for that exact thing; that you will have God's love and peace and feel it more tangibly. I'm glad you came here.

Hi Ken, I recently lost my husband this past December to cancer. He was only 49 years old, so I know how you feel. I know how lonely you are. It's not easy. I still cannot believe that this has happened to me either, but I do know that God is in control. I will pray that God brings into your life good Godly people to comfort you and to help you thru this difficult time.

Did you ever think about a support group for widowers? Most of them are free.

Hi Ken,

I'm so sorry about your loss and especially how your heart aches. Everyone here knows what you are gong thru in some kind of degree, although no one feels exactly the same about it. I lost my husband 4 years ago tomorrow, and he also was 55 (today was his birthday). Different things work for different people. People that know you, never really seem to know what to say. I have 2 children, so for me, it was scarier that I was the only one left, and I'm sure it was/is scary for them too. I also thought I would go first, but God had other plans. I read alot, and vegged alot, and cried alot, and posted here alot to get thru my pain. If there is anything we can do, besides listen....we are here. God bless
