Does anyone write their own prayers that they would feel comfortable in sharing?

I used to take comfort in the Hail Mary and the rosary but I fear to pick up my beads and say them now since I was shown it to be nothing more that spiritism and necromancy.

I still pray the prayer that Jesus taught us but I find writing my own prayers for specific needs or praying using Scripture comforts me in a completely new way I did not think was possible when I was just using my catholic prayer book.

Sorry I did not mean to post insensitive content I have an autism spectrum disorder I do not always know where boundaries are I was just repeating what I have been taught all transition involves some mourning I was sharing my own.

Very well, I have Aspergers, a most fruitful cross, so I rely on the Laws of God for all my conduct, and to The Lord and conform to His will in order to converse with human society. I still struggle a lot with worldly fear though.

Yes I agree it is a fruitful affliction I do not know where my faith and special interest starts or ends they blur into one another.
I can be dogmatic and steadfast but also blinded by pride and self righteousness.
When I was catholic my zeal for Mary was as my zeal for sola scripture is now in Protestantism.

I would like to keep the channels open between my catholic and protestant roots and friends as we our asked to keep Christian and Jewish channels open.

Just because I no longer attend solemn mass or pledge loyalty to the papacy I do not look down on Catholics as inferior believers of as unbelievers we are all equal in God's sight with dignity and in His image.

It saddens me deeply that pride blocks compassion.
When loyalty over a label means more than seeing Christ in our neighbour. We are all members of the body of Christ why is so much energy consumed in tearing each other apart A kingdom divided cannot stand.

Actually I really like talking with Protestants on CF. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather we'd be One in Christ, and I've come to realize that I've neglected conversing with my fellow TradCats, but it's really nice to just set aside our PC niceties and have an honest debate about what Our Lord really wants.

In regards to my advice for unity, remember that of the two greatest Commandments, the First is Love of God, so I think we should draw closer to God, and order draw close to each other in Christian unity. I know we have disagreements on how to do that, but it's worth just crying out to God for and asking for Him to reveal His will to you.

I'm sorry. I got the name wrong. I got this book when I first entered the RCC. It has various chaplets. The history of the prayers behind them and pictures and instructions for making the chaplets. It is a great book. You might enjoy it.
