Favourite British Comedy?

league of gentlemen, Black Books, the office, father ted, fawlty towers, little britain

basically anything with good characters. the banter between tim and gareth in the office, Dougals sweet ignorance and Bernard from black books, well, he's just Bernard. And Basil Fawlty of course, hitting his car with a branch....

but i just love the dentons in the league of gentlemen, the family with all the toads and the creepy twins who are obsessed with hygeine

For me it's Yes Minister/Yes Prime Minister. Classics! Oh and Tony Hancock but then I guess a lot of you will be too young................!

Tony Hancock = comedy genius!

My favs would have to include Blackadder...'I have a plan so cunning you could stick a tail on it and call it a weasle!!'

Anything with the Two Ronnies - 'Four Candles' makes me laugh every time!

The Good life!

As you've probably spotted I like the older stuff although I've really enjoyed 'The Worst Week of My Life' on the BBC! Its painfully funny!

Finally I have found a British comedy thread!!

I got the entire 3 seasons of Black Books on DVD for Christmas - I love it! Besides that, I've always been a fan of Father Ted and also I enjoyed watching Baddiel and Skinner Unplanned when it got a run occasionally on TV here in Australia.

Black books is great! I find Bill Bailey's stand up shows hilarious, have you seen any of his stand up gigs? They're out on DVD aswell! Pure Genius!

Extras is also FANTASTIC! We just got the DVD last week and watched them all, they are all as funny as each other although Patrick Stewart will have to be a favourite

Yeah, that'd be the Alan Partridge Show with Steve Coogan! Also a supremely funny bloke!

He was on BBC Radio 1 this morning promoting his new film with Rob Brydon - also a very funny guy, anybody seen 'Marion & Geoff','The Keith Barrett Show', or most recently 'Supernova'. All quality stuff!
I've heard that Steve Coogan is making it big on the other side of the Atlantic 'pond', anyone over in the land of the free heard of him?
