Make a Joyful Noise / I will not be silent - David Crowder

MINE TOO! It was the song that really got by back where I needed to be with Christ. I love the part "I will not be silent NO! I will not be silent anymore!" If the flowers and the trees can speak up about their love for God without fear than so can I. When I took my youth group to a DCB concert they played with song during the encore and it was so SPIRIT filled!
The crowd was alive in ardent worship, people prasing God and tears everywhere, everyone there just sharing their love for Christ. It was one of the top ten moments in my life when I felt really close to God and felt real love. And to think, heaven will be that times 1000. AWESOME!

My youth all love Prince of Peace (You are Holy). They like the guys and gals singing different parts and they love the P&W aspects of it. Its like a love letter to God telling how much we love him in the verse and then praising how powerful and loving he is to us in the chorus. Good song! (Its fun to play also)

my song at this time is Amazed by jared anderson

You dance over me
While I am unaware
You sing all around
But I never hear the sound

Lord I’m amazed by You
Lord I’m amazed by You
Lord I’m amazed by You
How You love me

How wide
How deep
How great
Is Your love for me

My favorite (this week anyway) is Jesus Is because it covers His story from beginning to end.

JESUS IS (Colossians 1: 15-20)
Jesus! He’s the Lord of Lord’s, he’s the mighty king.
Jesus! Up in heavn with God makin’ everything.
Jesus! But he left his glory to walk the earth.
Jesus! Born in Bethlehem, what a humble birth!
Yea! He came to us so he could be our savior!

chorus
Jesus is the Lord! He is, he’s the Lord!
Jesus is the Lord! He is, he’s the Lord!
Jesus is the Lord! He is, he’s the Lord!
Yea! Jesus is, is my Lord!

Jesus! Had a go at life from the human side.
Jesus! Then for all our sins on the cross he died.
Jesus! When they checked his tomb they just had to stare.
Jesus! See the place he was. Hes no longer there!
Yea! He rose from death and now he is our savior! (chorus)

Jesus! To his Father’s home, then, he went away.
Jesus! Made a promise he would be back some day.
Jesus! Now to get us, that’s what hes comin’ for.
Jesus! And well live with him, yea, forever more!
Hes our dying, rising, living, coming savior! (chorus)

I like the song called Pass it on. It was the very first song I heard after I became a christian and it really helps show me what I should be doing with God's word in ministering to other people. I heard this song at our local CSSM camp.

Pass It On by Kurt Kaiser

It only takes a spark o get a fire going,
but soon all those around can warm up to its glowing,
That's how it is with God's love, once you've experienced it,
You spread his love to everyone, you want to pass it on

What a wondrous time is spring when all the trees are budding,
The birds begin to sing,The flowers start their blooming,
That's how it is with God's love, once you've experienced it,
You want to sing,It's fresh like spring,You want to pass it on,

I wish for you my friends,This happiness that I've found,
You can depend on him,It matters not where you're bound,
I'll shout it from the mountain top, I want my world to know,
The Lord of Love has come to me, I want to pass it on

I like "Abba Father" by Shaun Groves. It isn't my all-time favorite, but it is a really good song. My favorite would have to be "I Can Only Imagine" by Mercy Me.

Abba Father

Abba Father
My defender
You are holy
I surrender
For in my weakness
You protect me
When my heart strays
You correct me

I cry Abba Father
I love You, Daddy
Abba Father
I love You, I love You
Abba Father
I love You, Daddy
Abba Father

I love You, I love You
Daddy

WOW, there have been some awesome songs mentioned already. One of my favourites is 'Outrageous Grace' by Godfrey Birtill

There's a lot of pain
But a lot more healing
There's a lot of trouble
But a lot more peace
There's a lot of hate
But a lot more loving
There's a lot of sin
But a lot more grace

Oh Outrageous Grace!
Oh Outrageous Grace!
Love unfurled by heavens hand
Oh Outrageous Grace!
Oh Outrageous Grace!
Through my Jesus I can stand

There's a lot of fear
But a lot more freedom
There's a lot of darkness
But a lot more light
There's a lot of cloud
But a lot more vision
There's a lot of perishing
But a lot more Life!

(chorus)

There's an enemy
That seeks to kill what it can't control
It twists and turns
Making mountains out of molehills
But I will call on the Lord
Who is worthy of praise
I run to Him and I am saved! ... by ...

(chorus)
Godfrey Birtill

The Heart of Worship
Matt Redman

When the music fades
all is stripped away
and I simply come.

Longing just to bring
Something that's of worth
That will bless Your heart.

I'll bring you more than a song,
for a song in itself
is not what You have required.

You search much deeper within
thro' the way things appear;
You're looking into my heart.

Chorus:
I'm coming back to the heart of worship
And it's all about you;
All about you Jesus.
I'm sorry Lord, for the thing I've made it,
When it's all about You;
All about You Jesus.

King of endless worth,
No one could express
How much You deserve.

Tho' I'm week and poor,
All I have is Yours,
Ev'ry single breath.

Chorus 2x

Sometimes it's really easy for us musicians and worship leaders to get off track in planning and performing praise services...and when that happens it's no longer about Him, it becomes about us.

The song touches me deeper everytime I play/sing/hear it. It keeps me remembering that it's not about how well anyone sings, how well we're playing or even how well we're performing...it's about Him...always about Him.

Mine too!!!!

Beause before Him we are naked, and the songs we can't hide behind.
When It's more than mere words, but flows from the abundance of the heart
When  worship is worship, that is what He longs for............
That is where I am blessed............................

Well favourite hymn is easy - it's 'Be thou my vision', though a close second is 'My hope is built on nothing less' with the tune by Nicky Chiswell

Favourite worship song is more difficult - I've made a database of all the songs I know (around 650 choruses and worship songs, 130 hymns with Graham Kendrick being the most common name appearing about 50 times) and I've tried to order them into how much I like them.

I end up with between 20 and 40 favourites from the 70s, 80s, early 90s, late 90s and 2000s But I'd have to say that the past year or so, my favourite 5 have been:

There must be more than this (Consuming fire) Tim Hughes 2002
There's a lot of pain (Outrageous Grace) Godfrey Birtill 2000
Though I feel afraid Ian White 1996
Holy fire from heaven Brian Doerksen 1998
Blessed be your name Matt Redman 2002

There are so many excellent ones - it's a pity some seem to 'go out of fashion' after a few years, or after a few months in some churches(!)

(copyright details of over 600 songs on my database but not here - too much space I suppose)
