"Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid" (John 14:27, NKJV).
However, as it is written:
"No eye has seen,
no ear has heard,
no mind has conceived
what God has prepared for those who love him" (1 Cor.2:9, NIV).
"Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
but made himself nothing,
taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
and became obedient to death—
even death on a cross!
Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father" (Php. 2:6-11, NIV).
"Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Those who find their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake will find it" (Mat. 10:37-39, NRSV).
