• CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

1 <<A Psalm of David.>> LORD, who may abide in Your tabernacle? Who may dwell in Your holy hill?
2 He who walks uprightly, And works righteousness, And speaks the truth in his heart;
3 He [who] does not backbite with his tongue, Nor does evil to his neighbor, Nor does he take up a reproach against his friend;
4 In whose eyes a vile person is despised, But he honors those who fear the LORD; He [who] swears to his own hurt and does not change;
5 He [who] does not put out his money at usury, Nor does he take a bribe against the innocent. He who does these [things] shall never be moved.

Psalm 121

A song of ascents.

1 I lift up my eyes to the hills—
where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD watches over you—
the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
6 the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life; 8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.

Psa 63:1 O God, You are my God;
Early will I seek You;
My soul thirsts for You;
My flesh longs for You
In a dry and thirsty land
Where there is no water.
Psa 63:2 So I have looked for You in the sanctuary,
To see Your power and Your glory.
Psa 63:3 Because Your lovingkindness is better than life,
My lips shall praise You.
Psa 63:4 Thus I will bless You while I live;
I will lift up my hands in Your name.
Psa 63:5 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness,
And my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips.
Psa 63:6 When I remember You on my bed,
I meditate on You in the night watches.
Psa 63:7 Because You have been my help,
Therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice.
Psa 63:8 My soul follows close behind You;
Your right hand upholds me.

We can see how the psalmist David acknowledged a personal, intimate relationship with God in which his longing for God is as intense as the longing of dry, parched lips for water. He cried out for God with a thirst that could not be quenched and a hunger that could not be satisfied. He longed for God with every fibre of his being and we can see that clearly in this Psalm. The soul that finds satisfaction in God, feasts on Him, and holds fast to Him , the result is joy, sheer joy.
You know the Psalmist was looking forward to the cross, whereas we are looking back to the cross, he did not have the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit like we do, yet he knew well what it was to experience the anointing of the Holy Spirit. We have the Holy Spirit indwelling us, but do we long for God the way David did? He longed to behold His glory, His shekinah glory. Do we long to behold the fullness of His glory? Do we long for His glory to fall down and touch us reviving us afresh? Is Jesus more important to us than any other thing?
The Hebrew word for praise used here is shabach, it means to praise, adore and glory in something. The psalmist is totally involved in this worshipful hymn to God: he uses his eyes to see God more clearly(see, v. 2), his lips joyfully sing praises to God (v. 3),he lifts up his hands in praise to His God (v. 4),his soul thirsts for God (v. 5),he praises God with his mouth (v. 5), and his mind meditates on God even as he goes to sleep, v.6) This is the surely the language of intoxication. The Psalmist Isn’t this the example of true worship. Is this not an example for us to follow. Do we long for the reality of His Presence, for Him to pour out His Spirit and to effect a change in us? I know I do. I long to behold His glory, I love Him in a way that I once thought wasn’t possible for us in this earth.
No matter what comes against us we are shadowed by His wings, so we can raise our joyful song of praise to Him, for He alone is Worthy, and give Him all the Glory. When we turn all over to Him in loving dependence and in conscious need, He preserves us from dangers seen and unseen, the principalities and powers of the air and through His Spirit empowers us to press on toward the mark for the prize.

2Co 3:17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
2Co 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Think on this beholding as in a mirror “reflecting” as well as “looking into.” We are meant to behold something of the glory of the Lord, the veil has been rent in two, we are to be continually transformed into the same image by the Spirit of the Lord. We with ever-increasing glory, are to reflect what we behold, to become more and more like our Lord.

Psalm 1 is a favorite Psalm of mine. It tells of two ways. The way of the righteous and the way of the ungodly. We all are faced with a choice; whether to walk in God's way or to persue our own or another way.

He who walks in God's way and the way of his Word is like a tree firmly planted and will bear fruit for the Lord. He (or she) will prosper but the one who does not follow God's way will perish.

'Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,nor stands in the path of sinners,nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the Lord and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree that is planted by the rivers of water,that brings forth it's fruit in it's season,whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.
The ungodly are not so,but are like the chaff that the wind drives away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the day of judgement,nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the Lord knows the way of the righteous,but the way of the ungodly shall perish.'

Psalm 84
84:1 How amiable are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts!
84:2 My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD:
my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.
84:3 Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for
herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O LORD
of hosts, my King, and my God.
84:4 Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising
thee. Selah.
84:5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the
ways of them.
84:6 Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain
also filleth the pools.
84:7 They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion
appeareth before God.
84:8 O LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob.
Selah.
84:9 Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine
anointed.
84:10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a
doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of
wickedness.
84:11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace
and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk
uprightly.
84:12 O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.

Three blessed .

1.Desiring. 2.Dwelling. 3.Depending.

My favorite:

Psalms 91
91:1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

Psalm 29

Praise to God in His Holiness and Majesty
A Psalm of David

Give unto the Lord, O you mighty ones.
Give unto the Lord glory and strength.
2. Give unto the Lord the glory due to His name;
Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.
3. The voice of the Lord is over the waters;
The God of glory thunders;
The Lord is over many waters.
4. The voice of the Lord is powerful;
The voice of the Lord is full of majesty.
5. The voice of the lord breaks the cedars,
Yes, the Lord splinters the cedars of Lebanon.
6. He makes them also skip like a calf.
Lebanon and Sirion like a young wild ox.
7. The voice of the Lord divides the flames of fire.
8. The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness;
The Lord shakes the Wilderness of Kadesh.
9. The voice of the Lord makes the deer give birth,
And strips the forest bare;
And in His temple everyone says,
"Glory!"
10. The Lord sat enthroned at the Flodd,
And teh Lord sits as King forever.
11. The Lord will give strength to His people;
The Lord will bless His people with peace.

PSALM 133

1 'Behold,how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
2 It is like the precious oil upon the head,running down on the beard,the beard of Aaron,running down on the edge of his garments.
3 It is like the dew of Hermon,descending upon the mountains of Zion; For there the Lord commanded the blessing- life for evermore.'

Psm 42:
42:1 As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul
after thee, O God.
42:2 My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come
and appear before God?
42:3 My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually
say unto me, Where is thy God?
42:4 When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had
gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God,
with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept
holyday.

CHAPTER 3
3:1 Lord, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that
rise up against me.
3:2 Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in
God. Selah.
3:3 But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up
of mine head.
3:4 I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his
holy hill. Selah.
3:5 I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.
3:6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set
themselves against me round about.
3:7 Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all
mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of
the ungodly.
3:8 Salvation belongeth unto the LORD: thy blessing is upon thy
people. Selah.

Psalms, psalm 2

1: Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
2: The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
3: Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
4: He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
5: Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
6: Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
7: I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
8: Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
9: Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.
10: Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
11: Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
12: Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

---------

Psalms, psalm 8

1: O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.
2: Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.
3: When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
4: What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
5: For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
6: Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
7: All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;
8: The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.
9: O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!
===========

Psalms, psalm 14

1: The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
2: The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.
3: They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
4: Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD.
5: There were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the righteous.
6: Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the LORD is his refuge.
7: Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the LORD bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

Psalms 119 :p

JK JK

I like Psalms 40-It reminds me when I fail God that even Gods greats also failed him and that God is willing to forgive me

1 I waited patiently for the LORD;
he turned to me and heard my cry.

2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.
3 He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear
and put their trust in the LORD.
4 Blessed is the man
who makes the LORD his trust,
who does not look to the proud,
to those who turn aside to false gods. [a]
5 Many, O LORD my God,
are the wonders you have done.
The things you planned for us
no one can recount to you;
were I to speak and tell of them,
they would be too many to declare.
6 Sacrifice and offering you did not desire,
but my ears you have pierced [b] , [c] ;
burnt offerings and sin offerings
you did not require.
7 Then I said, "Here I am, I have come—
it is written about me in the scroll. [d]
8 I desire to do your will, O my God;
your law is within my heart."
9 I proclaim righteousness in the great assembly;
I do not seal my lips,
as you know, O LORD.
10 I do not hide your righteousness in my heart;
I speak of your faithfulness and salvation.
I do not conceal your love and your truth
from the great assembly.
11 Do not withhold your mercy from me, O LORD;
may your love and your truth always protect me.
12 For troubles without number surround me;
my sins have overtaken me, and I cannot see.
They are more than the hairs of my head,
and my heart fails within me.
13 Be pleased, O LORD, to save me;
O LORD, come quickly to help me.
14 May all who seek to take my life
be put to shame and confusion;
may all who desire my ruin
be turned back in disgrace.
15 May those who say to me, "Aha! Aha!"
be appalled at their own shame.
16 But may all who seek you
rejoice and be glad in you;
may those who love your salvation always say,
"The LORD be exalted!" 17 Yet I am poor and needy;
may the Lord think of me.
You are my help and my deliverer;
O my God, do not delay.

Psm 125:1 They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which
cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.
125:2 As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is
round about his people from henceforth even for ever.
125:3 For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the
righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity.
125:4 Do good, O LORD, unto those that be good, and to them that are
upright in their hearts.
125:5 As for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, the LORD
shall lead them forth with the workers of iniquity: but peace shall
be upon Israel.
