Socrates was by far the most entertaining and inspirational character among the ancients for me.

Plato is a fascinating read, especially when you're studying the roots of modern thought, but his philosophy is too idealistic for my taste.

Aristotle was a much more pragmatic thinker. I would say my own ideas align with his camp more often than not.

Locke is a good one. I especially fascinated with his ideas about natural rights.

Hume... let's just say if he were still alive I would enjoy giving him a hard time.

Kant was very inspirational. I don't agree with all of his ideas and he's hard to understand, but his work was very profound for me. I especially like his categorical imperative.

Plato is good value, but it is really hard to work out which parts, if any, he actually means.
Hume... let's just say if he were still alive I would enjoy giving him a hard time.
I daresay the enjoyment would probably be all his and the hard time yours!
