If I tried to name my favorites I think I could compile a whole new hymnal!

So I'll try to keep it down.
The Church's One Foundation is definately one I could not do without, here is another verse to that one which I think was left off:
"The church shall never perish! Her dear Lord to defend,
To guide, sustain and cherich, Is with her to the end;
Though there b ethose that hate her, And false sons in her pale,
Against or foe or traitor, She ever shall prevail."

Here another fav of mine (and to the same tune as
The Church's One Foundation):
'Tis not that I did choose thee, For, Lord that could not be;
This Heart would still refuse Thee, Hadst thou not chosen me.
Thou from the sin that stained me Hadst cleansed and set me free;
Of old Thou hast ordained me, That I should live to Thee.
'Twas sov'reing mercy called me, And taught my op'ning mind;
The world had else enthralled me, To heav'nly glories blind.
My heart owns none before Thee, For Thy rich grace I thirst;
This knowing, if I love Thee, Thou must have loved me first.

Be still, my soul: the Lord is on thy side.
Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain.
Leave to thy God to order and provide;
In every change, He faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul: thy best, thy heavenly Friend
Through thorny ways leads to a joyful end.
Be still, my soul: thy God doth undertake
To guide the future, as He has the past.
Thy hope, thy confidence let nothing shake;
All now mysterious shall be bright at last.
Be still, my soul: the waves and winds still know
His voice Who ruled them while He dwelt below.
Be still, my soul: when dearest friends depart,
And all is darkened in the vale of tears,
Then shalt thou better know His love, His heart,
Who comes to soothe thy sorrow and thy fears.
Be still, my soul: thy Jesus can repay
From His own fullness all He takes away.
Be still, my soul: the hour is hastening on
When we shall be forever with the Lord.
When disappointment, grief and fear are gone,
Sorrow forgot, loves purest joys restored.
Be still, my soul: when change and tears are past
All safe and blessèd we shall meet at last.
Be still, my soul: begin the song of praise
On earth, be leaving, to Thy Lord on high;
Acknowledge Him in all thy words and ways,
So shall He view thee with a well pleased eye.
Be still, my soul: the Sun of life divine
Through passing clouds shall but more brightly shine.

Here's a good evangelical hymn:
Far and near the fields are teeming
With the waves of ripened grain;
Far and near their gold is gleaming
Oer the sunny slope and plain.
Refrain
Lord of harvest, send forth reapers!
Hear us, Lord, to Thee we cry;
Send them now the sheaves to gather
Ere the harvest time pass by.
Send them forth with morns first beaming,
Send them in the noontides glare;
When the suns last rays are gleaming,
Bid them gather everywhere.
Refrain
O thou, whom thy Lord is sending,
Gather now the sheaves of gold;
Heavnward then at evening wending,
Thou shalt come with joy untold.
Refrain

Whateer my God ordains is right:
His holy will abideth;
I will be still whateer He doth;
And follow where He guideth;
He is my God; though dark my road,
He holds me that I shall not fall:
Wherefore to Him I leave it all.
Whateer my God ordains is right:
He never will deceive me;
He leads me by the proper path:
I know He will not leave me.
I take, content, what He hath sent;
His hand can turn my griefs away,
And patiently I wait His day.
Whateer my God ordains is right:
He is my Friend and Father;
He suffers naught to do me harm,
Though many storms may gather,
Now I may know both joy and woe,
Some day I shall see clearly
That He hath loved me dearly.
Whateer my God ordains is right:
Though now this cup, in drinking,
May bitter seem to my faint heart,
I take it, all unshrinking.
My God is true; each morn anew
Sweet comfort yet shall fill my heart,
And pain and sorrow shall depart.
Whateer my God ordains is right:
Here shall my stand be taken;
Though sorrow, need, or death be mine,
Yet I am not forsaken.
My Fathers care is round me there;
He holds me that I shall not fall:
And so to Him I leave it all.

This one is the best for Communion:
Stricken, smitten, and afflicted,
See Him dying on the tree!
Tis the Christ by man rejected;
Yes, my soul, tis He, tis He!
Tis the long expected prophet,
Davids Son, yet Davids Lord;
Proofs I see sufficient of it:
Tis a true and faithful Word.
Tell me, ye who hear Him groaning,
Was there ever grief like His?
Friends through fear His cause disowning,
Foes insulting his distress:
Many hands were raised to wound Him,
None would interpose to save;
But the deepest stroke that pierced Him
Was the stroke that Justice gave.
Ye who think of sin but lightly,
Nor suppose the evil great,
Here may view its nature rightly,
Here its guilt may estimate.
Mark the Sacrifice appointed!
See Who bears the awful load!
Tis the Word, the Lords Anointed,
Son of Man, and Son of God.
Here we have a firm foundation,
Here the refuge of the lost.
Christ the Rock of our salvation,
Christ the Name of which we boast.
Lamb of God for sinners wounded!
Sacrifice to cancel guilt!
None shall ever be confounded
Who on Him their hope have built.

Pass me not, O gentle Savior,
Hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou art calling,
Do not pass me by.
Refrain
Savior, Savior,
Hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou art calling,
Do not pass me by.
Let me at Thy throne of mercy
Find a sweet relief,
Kneeling there in deep contrition;
Help my unbelief.
Refrain
Trusting only in Thy merit,
Would I seek Thy face;
Heal my wounded, broken spirit,
Save me by Thy grace.
Refrain
Thou the Spring of all my comfort,
More than life to me,
Whom have I on earth beside Thee?
Whom in heavn but Thee?
Refrain

Judge eternal, throned in splendor,
Lord of lords and King of kings,
With Thy living fire of judgment
Purge this land of bitter things;
Solace all its wide dominion
With the healing of Thy wings.
Still the weary folk are pining
For the hour that brings release;
And the citys crowded clangor
Cries aloud for sin to cease.
And the homesteads and the woodlands
Plead in silence for their peace.
Crown, O God, Thine own endeavor;
Cleave our darkness with Thy sword;
Feed the faint and hungry heathen
With the richness of Thy Word;
Cleanse the body of this nation
Through the Gospel of the Lord.

Here's a few more favs:
This is my Father's World
We Gather Together
We Plough the Fields and Scatter
Come, Ye Thankful People, Come
Revive Us Again
And Can it Be

Yet if I could only have one it would have to be Holy, Holy, Holy (especially this verse):
Holy, holy, holy! though the darkness hide Thee,
Though the eye of sinful man Thy glory may not see;
Only Thou art holy; there is none beside Thee,
Perfect in power, in love, and purity.

Do any of you here sing Psalms? What is your favorite Psalter?
Mine is the Scottish (1650). The 75th Psalm is a good one.
