Favorite First person shooter

Another FPS I liked but didnt mention before was deadly dozen 2:

Im getting black hawk down pretty soon so Im looking forward to that.

Im really not big on the futuristc types like unreal tournament 2003 and quake 3. I played them both but not crazy about them. I prefer shotguns and rifles over lazer beams and fireballs!

Im looking forward in a big way to Half-life2 and also the new Castle wolfeinstein that will come out later this year.

Half Life and all of it's mods. HL is great because it will run on almost anything. I have to be honest though. The biggest thing I have ever seen in FPS was when GLQuake first came out. I had a 3dfx voodoo card and it totally blew me away the difference. Sadly I have to say that nothing has been that big since. (not even the lighting affects in Unreal 2)

STV: Elite Force (v1.2) - basically Q3A with Star Trek characters. (been playing 2+ years & I don't like Star Trek)

I don't play Q3A because of all the pentagrams. It has aimbots - punkbuster was too much hassle also, so I gave up on it.

CS - I hated the blocky graphics. Otherwise it wasn't bad.

UT2k3 -- good graphics, pretty good gameplay. I recently sold it for $12.

Rainbow6 was my fav. a few years back.

I'm moving on from FPS though - gets old after a few years lol (but that's another topic)

This may seem "mainsteam" of me, but the Xbox rendition of Halo is my favorite FPS to date. I absolutely love Halo.

But for PC (I'm mostly a PC gamer) Call of Duty is awesome; the multiplayer isn't good, it's a horribly inspired senseless deathmatch. I hate Battlefield (I think the game engine sucks, and player damage is skewed, I also don't like hiking four miles to the front just to get killed by a tank.) absolutely love Day of Defeat (Valves version of BF42 without vehicles), can tolerate some Counter-Strike (rampant cheating + players behaving like 8 year olds).

Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, Half-Life, Call of Duty, and a few others already mentioned. PC is my platform of choice, I was once reluctant to try it but it's superior in every way in terms of a solo or online experience. But if you've got friends coming over, it's a good thing you've got a console.
